Biden imposes new tariffs on China.

Biden's China tariffs. On Tuesday, President Biden announced major new tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, advanced batteries, solar cells, steel, aluminum and medical equipment, covering $18 billion worth of Chinese imports. The largest tariffs are on imports of electric vehicles, quadrupling the proportion of the tax from 25% to 100%.

Much has been made in the media about his age and memory and whether he’s cognitively capable of handling another term. But an unanticipated performance at the State of the Union reignited his base and left many questioning that narrative. And while Donald Trump faces a jury of his peers in court, the court of public opinion continues to weigh in on the effectiveness of Biden’s foreign policies, with an eye to the conflicts between Israel and Palestine, Ukraine and Russia, and our own protracted clash at our southern border.  Our undecided voters share their observations on the current commander in chief and how his decisions on the world stage affect their decision in the voting booth. An update on Trump's hush money trial.

An update on Trump's hush money trial.

The latest in Donald Trump’s New York trial. This week, Trump's one-time personal lawyer Michael Cohen testified in the former president’s trial for allegedly falsifying business records, commonly referred to as the "hush money" case. Cohen’s testimony comes a week after adult film star Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, took the stand to describe her alleged relationship with Trump. Cohen and Daniels are key witnesses for the prosecution, which is claiming that Trump falsified records of payments to suppress incriminating personal information during the 2016 presidential campaign.

    The bird flu.

    The bird flu.

The bird flu. On Friday, the federal government unveiled a package of financial incentives to dairy farm owners that encourages broader testing of cattle for bird flu (also known as the avian flu or H5N1) and expands security measures to control a potential outbreak of the virus in cows. The package, which totals $98 million, includes up to $28,000 per farm over the next four months. The Department of Agriculture has made the money available to farms where infected cows have been identified.

Trump's classified documents case delayed indefinitely.

Trump's trial delay in Florida. Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over former President Donald Trump's classified documents case, indefinitely postponed his trial last week. The announcement all but assures the trial — once set to begin this month — will not be completed before election day in November.

StarSharon ,

Fantastic. Should be in the top ten podcasts.

This podcast is well done and gives perspectives about subjects from all sides. The podcast needs to advertise on other podcasts so more listeners can find out about it. It's a hidden gem.

The Undecideds

I love Tangle generally, but the Undecideds episodes have been a bit of a disappointment. They’re interesting, but I would prefer more probing questions, more background analysis, and more comparisons among undecided voters, vs just letting them talk. Compare with The Run-Up.

This is what journalism should be

Isaac does deeper-dive analyses on one major headline each day, presenting facts, known liberal and conservative spin, and his own opinion where he acknowledges his own biases. It has made me feel like I have the full context in about 10-20 minutes. Tangle is overall just rational. While I don’t always agree with Isaac’s Take, I always respect where he is coming from and understand his logic. 10/10. Recommend.
