Episode 020 - Hunter Robichaux: Director of International Programs, USMC ANGLICO (Veteran), BJJ Black belt, Fisherman and Humanitarian

    Tell Me Podcast Episode 020-

On this episode I have a chat with Hunter Robichaux.

Hunter was born into a family with a deep military lineage - specifically in the US Marines.

On top of that he also comes from a fighting family and legend has it his first time on the mats was when he was a few months old crawling around as a toddler.

I had an amazing time discussing his life from his upbringing, his time in service as an ANGLICO in the marines, being part of the team that evacuated over 17,000 innocent lives during the Afghan Withdrawal in 2021 through the organisation Save Our Allies, assisting the Ukranians during the ongoing Russian invasion and currently serving as the Director of International Programs through the Mighty Oaks Foundation.

It was an absolute honour to have you on the show and I can't wait to catch up brother!

But as you'll hear on this episode she is so much more than that! To me just an all round incredible and hard working human who I was lucky enough to have met last year.
Meyli is the author of "Terrorist Attack Girl" a book written about her experience during the 2019 terrorist incident which tragically killed 22 innocent lives in Nairobi, Kenya and her journey forward.

Episode 017- Kevin Estela: Survival Expert, Author, Educator, Director of Training at Fieldcraft Survival and a Forever Student of the Outdoors

Episode 017- Kevin Estela: Survival Expert, Author, Educator, Director of Training at Fieldcraft Survival and a Forever Student of the Outdoors

On this Episode I have a chat with Kevin Estela
Like most pre-internet era kids pent most of his spare time in the great outdoors. However, unlike most other kids he also grew up with the stories of his dads upbringing in the Phillipines during World War 2. Stories of living off the land, in caves and of Survival.
Kevin pursued a career as an educator and was a high school teacher for over 14 years. During this time he also somehow managed to squeeze in an insane amount of time in the wilderness, teaching survival courses and even writing his book: 101 Skill you need to survive in the woods.
During the pandemic Kevin was presented with an opportunity that would combine his love of the outdoors/survival with his passion for teaching and became a pivotal member of the Fieldcraft Survival as the Director of Training.
An outdoorsman, martial artist, educator, author, survival expert and more importantly an all around awesome dude! Kevin thank you for taking time to be on my show and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store!

We interrupt this Podcast to talk about Mental Health!

I discuss Mental Health utilising a visual I had seen from Mike Glover (Fieldcraft Survival) and Tom Spooner (Warriors Heart).
Let's keep talking about mental health and continue to make progress.
Below are some links to some resources- apologies that it is only divided into the three regions they are just the areas that I am either familiar with or have had folks tell me about the services.
This is by no means an exhaustive list but just some valuable resources I have come across:

Episode 016- John Hendricks: The Global Recon Podcast (creator and host)

Tell Me Podcast Episode 016 - John Hendricks
On this episode I chat with John Hendricks.
John was born and raised in New York city in the 80's and 90's. He grew up in rough neighborhoods and was exposed to hardship from an early age.
Fast forward to the 2000s and with the advent of YouTube, he and a few buddies started up a calisthenics channel called Barstarzz which has generated millions of views worldwide.
Wanting to go out and do his own thing- Whilst speaking to a friend who was leaving the CIA in 2016, John decided to combine his marketing skillset from Barstarzz with his passion for current events, military history and promoting awareness around veteran mental health. The result is his highly successful podcast- The Global Recon Podcast.
John is one of the reasons I started listening to podcasts and ultimately why I wanted to start one myself. I have interacted with John over social media since tuning in in 2017 and he has always been receptive and helpful with any queries I threw his way.
Thank you for continuously providing amazing content, for your time on my podcast and your friendship!
    Enjoy the podcast everyone!
