High quality Halloween podcast!
Although the episodes are structured around the piece of media featured, this show does an excellent job branching out to discuss all that comes with a love for the Halloween season—decorations, traditions, food, parties, nostalgia. I would love to see more women on the show and would additionally suggest episodes on older spooky media: Hitchcock, Frankenstein, Dracula, Cat People, Wait Until Dark, Twilight Zone, etc.
Podcast of my Dreams
This is the podcast of my dreams!!! It is so much fun and it gives me nostalgic Halloween Special vibes. I wish this could be a year round podcast and I hope that if nothing else, they make this show an annual thing. Through this podcast, I have learned about some Halloween movies that I have never seen and some that I need to revisit. I also really appreciate that they also discuss spooky kid specials as well as straight up horror. If you are looking for something to get you in the Halloween mood, this is it. My spooky fun favorites are the following:
1. A movie from the 90’s called “High Spirits”. It is a super fun ghost story comedy with an all-star cast. If you like spooky fun, check this one out.
2. “Dead Silence”. This movie is so underrated. The set and the atmosphere are stunning. While the dialogue and some of the acting is downright corny, you also have an outstanding actress who plays a ventriloquist with her creepy dummy and some excellent backstory. Not to mention, the theme song is perfectly spooky. Happy Halloween, everyone!!!
Fantastic Halloween content
The meat and potatoes of this show is Halloween movie/TV special reviews but what makes it a joy to listen to is everyone gushing and nerding out about Halloween. Jeff and everyone he interviews truly loves Halloween and since it’s such a multifaceted holiday you really get to see it from every angle with everyone’s experiences and input. So far some of my favorites have been covered (including some childhood favorites) - I have enjoyed learning about and watching new movies (the Midnight Hour was a trip) and I am holding out hope that Ernest Scared Stupid might make an appearance before the end of the month!
