TRL 110: Real Estate Investing for Digital Nomads 101 with Matt Bowles from Maverick Investor Group
Today on the podcast I am joined by Matt Bowles, the cofounder of Maverick Investor Group and the host of The Maverick Show podcast. After getting fired out of the blue in 2007, Matt decided to start his own business to take control of his future and create more security for himself. He turned to real estate investing which he has been doing for several years as a side hustle of sorts while working his 9 to 5 job, and so Maverick Investor Group was born.
At Maverick, Matt and his partners help investors find turnkey properties in the best markets across the US, and unlike most companies in the real estate space, Maverick has been remote from the very beginning allowing Matt to travel to more than 65 countries and have some incredible experiences like travel across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
In this episode you will learn why Matt decided to create a real estate investment company as opposed to another type of business, why more digital nomads should invest in real estate, the 5 profit sources real estate investment provides you with, and how building Maverick as a remote-first company has given Matt and his partners an unfair advantage over the competition.

I also discuss our plans for the rest of 2021 and where we plan on spending the summer.
TRL 108: Tynan - The Most Interesting Man in the World on Creating a Limitless Financial Runway, Buying an Island, and Living an Extraordinary Life
Today I am super excited to be joined on the podcast by someone who once installed a swimming pool in his apartment to house his pet penguin, and the only person I know that owns a private island, and that's Tynan. Tynan was first introduced to me as someone who would certainly be in the running for the most interesting man in the world, and I think you can understand why just from that short intro.
I believe that we all have dreams of doing amazing things, whether that's buying an island, or quitting your job to travel the world full time, yet most people don't actually pursue these dreams instead just fantasize about them on their commute to work, and that's exactly what I wanted to talk with Tynan about - how can he afford to live such an amazing lifestyle, and what separates him from the rest of us in terms of how he views his life and dreams.
During this interview, you are also going to learn why Tynan thinks you should most likely learn to play poker, why living frugally is so important, and the formula Tynan has used to purchase properties all over the world with his friends.

During this interview, I got the to dive into Alex's freelancing business and get a better understanding of what makes her different and how she found so much success on a marketplace that many people fight over $5 gigs on. You will learn how Alex was able to increase her prices from $5 per gig to over $1000 a gig, why showcasing your personality and brand are so important to stand out on freelancing platforms, and how to leverage premium freelancing platforms to boost your income overnight.
