Masoretic Torah - Genesis 1 - Milleniums of Time

Masoretic Torah - Genesis 1 - Milleniums of Time

Diving into the text of the JPS (Jewish Publication Society) examining the orthodox Jewish perspective on Genesis chapter 1.  Challenging our perspective at how the creation can help shed light on Scripture to reveal a bigger picture of Ye'Ho'Vah Elohim's perfect will.  We shall see a mysterious message in Genesis Five in relation to a day that God refused to call "Good"  Symbology in creation will come alive in a new way when examining Els birth, judgment, and redemption of Israel as a nation.  Such understanding helps us see what is known as a Chaiasm or a Chaiastic structure in Greece or a Menorah image in Hebraic circles that reveals through the fourth Torah - the Ruach Kodesh (Holy Spirit) a gimps of how God sees time in his omnipresence.

Introduction to the Samaritan Pentateuch Part 2

Introduction to the Samaritan Pentateuch Part 2

In this second introduction to the Samaritan Torah.  This time we delve deeper into the Academic debate surrounding the Samaritans as Jews and Hebrews.  Not only is the text of various Hebrew languages examined, we also see why the Samaritans favored the Torah separate from most other sects of the 1st century A.D. and earlier.  Admittedly there is debate on the Samaritan Hebrew spelling, place names, and Pronunciations.  This is why many favor the rigid Masoretic foundation in translation.  Furthermore there are differences in the numbers used for passage of time.  Was the Jews exile in Egypt 215 years (according to the Samaritans) or 430 years (According to mainstream Judaism).  Both favor their own traditions and Oral law.  Yet strictly control the written law.  Curiously thanks to the DSS (Dead Sea Scrolls), out of 1,900 differences the LXX (Greek Septuagint) agrees with the Samaritan Torah.

Samaritan Torah Genesis 1 - Created in El's Image and Form

Samaritan Torah Genesis 1 - Created in El's Image and Form

Unique in the six days of creation is day six.  The Samaritan Torah says we are created in the image and form of God whom they call "Shemaah" or "Eloooowwem".  Examining the BIble we see that indeed, prior to mans disobedience of Gods one commandment which gave dominion to the enemy to Eusurpe deceifully we were like the Angels "Benai elohim" in hebrew.  Jesus/Yeshua confirms that in the Olam Habah - The world to come, his kingdom we will be like the Angels neither marrying or being given in Marriage.  We also discover insights through the commentary from the poets and sages of the Samaritans and their beliefs about Angels in the Torah.

Introduction to the Greek Septuagint (LXX)

Introduction to the Greek Septuagint (LXX)

The most controversial of the 3 Torah's.  This text while the most copied has performed the exact opposite of its Hebrew cousins of the Samaritan and Massoretic Text from a singular copy into a mass of distribution in various forms.  Church fathers from Orogin and Theadotian to Eusebius make there parallel translations, creating the fabric of Christian superiority of Hellenism, if not the Greek as a New and improved text from the Hebrew.  With that development it is most closely related to the Samaritan Pentateuch and the three least accurate New Covenant manuscripts of Codex Alexandrious, Sinaticus, and Vaticanus.

Introduction to the Israelite Samaritan Pentateuch

Introduction to the Israelite Samaritan Pentateuch

Our First introduction examines the oldest Torah, the Samaritan Pentateuch, that is curiously written in a square Paleo-Hebrew Script.  A rich history, the Samaritans are the forgotten and heavily smeared "Catholics" of Judaism for vast beliefs in Angels and some psuedo pagan practices.  The textual compilation of Torah's is discussed, along with the academic views between the Samaritan and Masoretic translations.  With over 6,000 differences between both Hebraic texts we are certain to encounter a unique Torah from an Israelite tribe that is largely forgotten and vanishing.
