70.) The October Sessions: Bigfoot Beyond the Blue Line- with Paul Bartholomew

In Part 2 of the spooky October Sessions entitled "Bigfoot Beyond the Blue Line" I speak with investigative researcher, author, and Whitehall, NY native, Paul Bartholomew, about his research and 40 years of experience studying Bigfoot and other unexplained phenomena both in the Adirondacks, upstate New York, Vermont and beyond. A fascinating man with so much to say on this subject.

Paul Bartholomew is the co-author of "Bigfoot Encounters in New York and New England: Documented Evidence Stranger Than Fiction" as well as "Monsters of the North Woods" and "Mysteries of the North Woods"

69.) ADK Campfire Stories: The Nye Wolf

69.) ADK Campfire Stories: The Nye Wolf

In the twilight, as the sun starts to dip behind the mountains, and its golden light kisses the surrounding summits, darkness engulfs the valleys below. The sounds of the forest awaken as the moon rises and a wailing can be heard for miles. A distinctive wailing that to some, may just sound like the wind in the trees…but it’s something more. Something sinister. But sometimes one wrong step down one wrong path is all it takes to find yourself face to face…with the Nye Wolf.

68.) Summit Sessions #16: Leave No Trace with Monika & David from LNT

In this Columbus Day Weekend Summit Session special I had the honor of speaking with Monika and David from the Leave No Trace organization all about the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace, LNT consulting in the Adirondack Park, and even went on a "virtual" hike up Mt Marcy to put those 7 principles to practice out on the trail.

This was a fun episode filled with information on how to responsibly and respectfully venture into the outdoors.

67.) The October Sessions: Bigfoot in the Blue Line- with Devin Peterson

It's October and that means it's time to have some spooky fun here in the outdoors of the Adirondack Mountains. This is an episode I've wanted to do for a long time, Bigfoot in the Blue Line. The Blue Line is another nickname for the Adirondacks and in this week's October Session I'll hear a possible Bigfoot encounter from longtime outdoorsman and NYS Guide, Devin Peterson, and we'll discuss his encounter, and read and discuss many other reported encounters from right here inside the Blue Line. A perfect episode for a chilly, spooky, Autumn night.

Five Stars, But Only Because Apple Won’t Let Me Leave 10

Setting aside the Bigfoot stories which are not my cup of tea, this is hands down the best ADK-based hiking podcast out there. James takes his listeners on a magical journey, sometimes literally step by step, on his ADK hiking adventures. He lays out trails, trail etiquette, best practices, and pro tips like only a Lake Placid native could. He helps people with everything from ways to enjoy views in solitude, making the best out of High Peaks hikes year round, and even how to find the best hikes without dealing with the High Peaks and their abysmal parking. He even dropped two excellent episodes on gear with his talking REI catalog buddy. From spooky stories to soaked hiking boots, this podcast delivers the best of the ADK with intimate knowledge, respect, humility, and the hands down best audio of any podcast out there. Enjoy.
