Sandra's journey in the tech world began as a java/DevOps developer. She was on the verge of completing her MBA when JP Morgan Chase recognized her incredible potential. Invited to a recruiter event for minority technologists, Sandra accepted a role as a Scrum Master of an S E (Site Engineering) team. Remarkably, even before her first official day on the job, she became a Certified Scrum Master. For two years, Sandra led teams in production support, spearheading efforts to enhance agility and implement automation, non-functional requirements, and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) best practices.

In January 2020, Sandra's career took a significant leap as she assumed the role of Product Manager/Owner of a team responsible for developing APIs and integration services for the reliability engineering group. Her impact was swift and substantial. Within a matter of months, she was also entrusted with the role of Product Owner for the Operational Excellence team. This team's mission is to ensure that all platforms are secure, reliable, scalable, and dependable, accomplished through the implementation of Agile, SRE, and DevOps best practices.

In 2021, Sandra's leadership and expertise were further recognized when she was appointed as Vice President and Product Manager for JP Morgan Chase's API Marketplace. In this pivotal role, she guides the vision, roadmap, and implementation for the API Marketplace and Gateway Platform, aiming to deliver best-in-class solutions. Sandra oversees the API marketplace portfolio, driving continuous innovation and technology modernization to enhance security, reliability, and performance. Furthermore, she actively mentors, develops, and leads her direct reports and teams, empowering them to advance their skillsets and achieve their career aspirations.

Her gamble paid off handsomely as this self-funded venture, initially starting with a modest 200 pre-orders, skyrocketed to an impressive $2 million in just two years. Carolina's story of entrepreneurship is one characterized by vision, perseverance, and a deep understanding of her target audience.

The genesis of Tragos can be traced back to a heritage trip to Colombia, where Carolina connected with her now-business associate, John Lim. Their shared passion for cultural exploration led to the inception of an Asian party game, Azn Flush. Carolina's background in Communication Design from Parsons, The New School, allowed her to craft the game's captivating packaging. However, she soon realized the need to create a product specifically tailored for Latinx consumers, a community close to her heart.

The game's popularity surged when a Tragos-related post went viral, propelling daily orders from a mere 10 to a staggering 5,000 in just one week. Carolina, determined and honest in her approach, expanded her operations to meet the demand. Her customers appreciated her transparency and were willing to wait for a cultural product that resonated deeply with them.

Carolina's achievements were further recognized when she was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30. She not only leads Tragos' product development but also spearheads partnership initiatives. Today, the game boasts expansion packs and a family-friendly version called Get Loud, catering to a broader audience without the need for alcoholic beverages.

Carolina remains grounded, viewing Tragos as a small business and remaining agile to pivot when needed. While the game initially launched on Shopify and now thrives on Amazon, she aspires to see it on retail shelves in the future. Simultaneously, she continues to explore diverse revenue models, including events, collaborations, and speaking engagements.

For Carolina, Tragos is not merely a drinking game but a medium to connect with cultural touchstones. Her customers attest to the game's significance, and she envisions even greater things ahead, all while remaining deeply attuned to her culture and her customers' needs.

As a recently reluctant CEO, Carolina's transformation into a passionate leader is a testament to the rewards of entrepreneurship. She now leads an all-female, Latinx remote team, including some friends, challenging the notion that business and friendship shouldn't mix. Carolina believes in surrounding herself with individuals whose strengths complement her own, a strategy that has fueled her business growth.

Her previous roles in higher education, from Student Success to the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, have equipped her with a unique perspective and skill set.

Juliana's educational journey is a testament to her dedication and excellence. She earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she proudly stands as an EOF alumnus. Her pursuit of higher education led her to a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Monmouth University, where she graduated as the highest-ranking recipient in her cohort.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Juliana is an open advocate for her disability, narcolepsy, using her voice to raise awareness about this chronic neurological disorder. She leverages her presence on social media and participates in various campaigns to educate and inspire others.

In her moments of self-care, Juliana finds solace in ice skating, explores local coffee shops, and maintains her well-being through exercise at her local YMCA. And for a unique form of relaxation, she dives into the challenge of assembling 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles.
