Athletes talk about visualizing to improve their performance all the time. Coaches using visualization as a tool regular - whether it’s part of meditations or journaling or even casual conversation.
The world doesn’t discuss the fact that there are people who are unable to visualize. Aphantasia is the medical term, and most teachers and coaches are completely unaware, so how can individuals know if they have this condition?
Sassy Smith is a revolutionary in the world of personal coaching. As the founder of The Aphantasia Coaching Academy and a pioneering force in neurodiversity, she is transforming the way coaches approach their neurodivergent clients.
Her unique journey began in 2015 when she discovered that she has aphantasia, a neurological condition that prevents her from visualising images in her mind. This put her on a voyage of discovery, uncovering the other little known, but significant, differences in the way her mind works.
During this time Sassy suffered from a complete nervous breakdown and found out that not many counselors and therapists are equipped to support people like her. It sparked her mission to raise awareness about these conditions and to ensure that others like her can receive the therapeutic support they need. With an extensive background in leadership, coaching, and women's health, she offers a unique perspective on neurodiversity that is backed by personal experience and research.
