The Black Expat Podcast aims to highlight the ups and downs of the expat experience. It touches on travel, current events, jobs, friendships, family, mental health and the overall expat experience. The goal is not only to provide others with information that I wasn't able to gain before my experiences, but also provide a space for expats worldwide to have their voices, stories, and experiences shared. We as people have far more in common than we think.

Through interviews with other expats and people all over the world, I've learned of the many paths that may take when deciding whether or not to become expats. My hope is that The Black Expat Podcast reaches those seeking interesting stories and perspectives, good laughs, and information and knowledge presented in an entertaining way.

Welcome to another electrifying episode of the Black Expat Podcast. In this episode, your host Carl connects with Ioanna, an adventurous world traveler and an enthusiastic cyclist. Ioanna's love for travel was kindled during her college years in the UK when she would visualize exploring the world through travel brochures. Her fascination with travel turned into a profession that allowed her to visit over forty countries around the globe.
Ioanna shares her life-changing experience, biking across the Himalayas to raise funds for a charity that builds schools in India. It's not all about the destination for her; it's about the journey, the cultures she encounters, and the connections she forms. Italy, China, Kenya, Colombia, and India are among her top rated travel destinations for their distinctive cultures, affable locals, and breathtaking beauty.
Personal growth through travel is another important theme discussed in the episode. Traveling to places where English or Chinese isn't the primary language, Carl talks with Ioanna about how it provided an opportunity to strengthen his communication and survival skills, while also helping to foster personal connections.
Technology's evolving role in travel is also touched upon in this conversation. How can technology enhance personal and unique travel experiences and what are its pros and cons? Ioanna shares her experience and insights from a data-driven, customer-centric perspective.
Tune into this captivating endeavor around the world on two wheels with Ioanna in this episode of Black Expat Podcast. From heartwarming tales of global adventures and how it's okay not to be overly athletic (Ioanna loves biking more than running) to the enriching experience of booking unplanned encounters, this episode has it covered.GET INVOLVED:The NGOhttps://laikipia.org/mazingira-conservation-fund-mcf/This is how the NGO raises money for the conservation projects: https://www.adventureforrhinos.org/

Awesome Podcast

💕Carl has a voice for podcasting and is an awesome host. I listened on a faster speed which I listen to all my podcasts & his voice at times sound like Don Lemon 👂🏽to see if you hear that. Anyway, great interviews and I live the idea of everyone donating $1 to help provide podcast equipment for others. I now want to go to Taiwan too. 💕This podcast is a gem. I am subscribed. Keep creating. I will share this show with others.
