    Monumental Legacies (w/ special guests)

We are joined by two of our good friends, who deliver a nuanced Indigenous response to The Dawn of Everything, centering on Chapter 11's treatment of Mississippian culture. They also share about an indigenous earthwork that they have recently helped to construct in the city of Bulbancha (a.k.a. New Orleans, Louisiana).

ojbfy ,

for the non college educated book nerds

It feels like a gift to be taken through these texts that can be super dense, but contain ideas that should be accessible to everyone for our collective liberation. It is a real act of generosity to share these thoughtful conversations.

Occasional mansplaining

I love the form of the podcast. Its like having your own personal book club that really gets into the nitty gritty of the text. But kinda regularly the guy takes over the conversation and occasionally re-explains something his cohost just said. It can veer into the leftist mansplain tone, so I take breaks. It seems better in the new season, or maybe it feels less annoying because Dawn isn't an explicitly feminist text.

Crucial

This is a crucial podcast for our times. Really happy to have found this to supplement my reading of caliban and the witch, I’ve gotten so much more out of it than attempting on my own and I’m looking forward to visiting prior seasons.
