Episode 25: Sustainability in the fashion industry The Change Makers Podcast
-
- Society & Culture
Nanette Hogervorst is an entrepreneur active at the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and communication. She has been raised by parents who have lived in the Philippines for years. They saw and experienced what it is like when water, energy, and food are not always present in abundance. Her upbringing (in the Netherlands) in combination with her own interest in social issues has led to her being active in youth politics for two years. After her communication studies, she did a number of projects abroad, including in South Africa at an HIV / AIDS Clinic and an internship at Amnesty International Philippines.
Currently, Nanette is dedicating most of her time to the development of her fashion platform Our World with the aim to accelerate the sustainability of the fashion industry. She believes that consumers play an important role in this. Our World therefore wants to inspire them in a substantiated way, challenge them and offer alternatives to make more sustainable clothing choices.
