Releasing the Motherload with Erica Djossa, Episode #78

Every mom wants to be a good parent—but if you’ve found yourself burned out and overwhelmed trying to be “the perfect mom,” you’re not alone. “We get handed a rulebook of motherhood without realizing it,” says Canada's maternal mental health specialist and the founder and CEO of Momwell Erica Djossa. “That rulebook comes with an invisible load—a world of mental and physical tasks that keep us pushing toward perfection while barely being able to breathe.” In todays podcast, Erica talks about her book "Releasing the Motherload" - and shares suggestions on how to help you break free from the crushing burden of unrealistic expectations and reclaim the joy of motherhood while staying true to your own values.

Fostering Resiliency in Teens with Kim Payne, Episode #76

Fostering Resiliency in Teens with Kim Payne, Episode #76

This is a recording from our 2024 summit. The tween and teen years are rife with intense social challenges in school, friendships, sports, and other activities where instances of teasing, bullying, social exclusion, and marginalization are unfortunately all too common. Social media has only made this behaviour easier and more insidious. But when kids aged 9 and up can be coached by a parent to respond effectively, manage their emotions in social situations, and recognize their own self-worth, they can reclaim a sense of their own power and develop skills like resilience, social and emotional intelligence, and compassion for life. Join Kim as he gives you strategies to give tweens and teens the tools to address the problem themselves and develop mastery over the situation—rather than having parents step in and try to "fix" things. He gives vital proactive strategies to help build strong family relationships, trust, and connection so kids can be better prepared for the inevitable social challenges life brings.

Trauma-Proofing our Kids with Dr. Levine, Episode #75

In this podcast Tammy interview one of the top trauma experts on the planet, Dr. Peter Levine; founder of the Somatic Experiencing method of therapy and author of multiple books including his most recent book:
An Autobiography of Trauma: A Healing Journey
The number of anxious, depressed, hyperactive, and withdrawn children is staggering—and still growing! Millions of children and teens have experienced bullying, violence (real or in the media), or abuse. Many other kids have been traumatized from more “ordinary” ordeals such as terrifying medical procedures, accidents, loss, and divorce. In this podcast Dr. Levine will talk about ways to "Trauma-Proof" children which is a lifeline for parents who wonder how they can help their worried and troubled children. Dr. Levine offers simple but powerful tools to help children “bounce back” after feeling scared and overwhelmed.
More of Dr Levine's work can be found  by visiting his website.

Boris Sical ,

Love them and their guests

Really amazing podcast. Practical tips on being a better parent.

The only complaint I have just the audio isn’t that great. Really low. So when a notification comes in, it blows up my speakers

But the content is beyond amazing

Hands down the best channel

I came across ICP on Instagram and signed up for their app first. Took a number of courses and was so mindblown by the information shared. The podcast channel is very insightful too and I have benefited so much from both platforms.

Amazing Podcast

I have found some parenting podcasts that I like and can take things from, but nothing quite like this podcast. I LOVE this podcast. I have found so much value in every episode I have listened to so far and actionable processes for helping my children. I am so appreciative! Can't wait to listen to some more episodes!
