Enjoy the guests

I like Chuck’s guests and usually like the interviews I just wish Chuck could let guests finish their answers before jumping in and talking over them. This is worse with the delays caused by remote interviews. I wish Chuck could find a room in his house where he can close his door. Most weeks we get the background noise of his wife and kids. This week we got the vacuum cleaner. Ponderous, man, ponderous.

Stop interrupting your guests!

The interrupting of guests is getting worse. There was one guest who was treated so rudely that my anxiety & discomfort from listening caused me to shut it off.

Masks

Chuck’s mask take is basically right, given where he lives. The majority of Americans live in communities where mask wearing is a good idea.

But many of these R’s represent very rural districts, with very few cases. There are a few prominent exceptions (think meat-packing industry), but in most rural communities, the person insisting on the mask wearing still looks like a moralizing scold. Sometimes pundits make too much of the urban rural divide, but in this case, it’s materially significant
