Real honest conversations about topics related to youth sports: coaching, parenting, and player development. The hosts have lived in both worlds of parent and coach. Those two worlds have even intersected, as they have coached their own children. The main purpose of this podcast is to be useful. Useful to those who coach. Useful to those who parent. Useful to those who are still playing. Sometimes we have guests, and sometimes we just talk about things – often things that are difficult – but we always have fun! And, we always seek to grow and learn. We hope you'll join our conversation!

164: Yes, Do Play Multiple Sports!

Today we revisit a question that comes up a lot. It's a topic that is always relevant because of the tension that is always felt by players, parents, and coaches. Should you play multiple sports or should you specialize? Should we always answer it the same way for every athlete? Is age a factor in the answer?

Pat and Chris definitely have strong opinions on the matter, but they also will provide data and real examples for why they hold the opinions they do, both as coaches and as fathers.

Youth Sports People Need This

This podcast speaks truth about issues that are happening in youth sports. Chris and Pat don't just point the finger at one group of people - parents, coaches, etc. But discuss how we all share the responsibility of changing the way we approach youth sports. Lots of topics they have discussed have hit close to home. I look forward to these episodes every Monday.

Great podcast

I have know Pat personally for many years. He knows the game of baseball and an all around good guy. This podcast is great for first time coaches as well as seasoned ones. It gives insight to players to become better for any age group. The topics better explain why we coach, how to coach and most importantly how to become a better coach or player. Great job guys! Keep up the good work!
