Don’t Take the Bait (part 1)
Have you ever been in a situation and had no idea how you got there? Has temptation come knocking, and now you’re wondering why you gave in and accepted the invitation? God wants us to be an overwhelming conqueror in all of the trials, tests, and temptations that we face. We can have victory as long as we Don’t Take the Bait of temptation.
Change Your Perspective (part 4)
The last few weeks, we talked about trusting God in the “what” even when we cannot see the “why.” We also shared about the importance of the mind and seeing things from a different perspective. Join us as we conclude the Change Your Perspective sermon series exploring Paul’s letter to the Philippians, as we complete our discussion of a new perspective on worrying from last week and discover a fresh perspective for daily living.
Change Your Perspective (part 3)
What you’ve experienced in your life usually determines what you see. Paul had experienced many things in his life, and because of those experiences, he was able to instruct the Philippian church to let go of the weights and burdens of the past and rejoice in the Lord. He gave them a different perspective on worry and trusting in the Lord. Paul changed his perspective to things that really matter, and we can too!
Change Your Perspective (part 2)
In 16 different places in Philippians, Paul talks about the mind. He also writes about the mind in many, if not all, of his other letters. James writes in his epistle, “a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” So the subject of the mind is obviously of the utmost importance in our study on changing our perspectives to line up with the Word of God. Join us as we share several mind-shifts that are imperative to experiencing a joy-filled life.
Change Your Perspective (part 1)
There is an unmistakable theme that runs throughout Paul’s letter to the Philippians: joy. Philippians has even been referred to as the “joy book.” You will find joy or rejoice or something similar at least 19 times in its 4 chapters. Paul was a man who had the joy of the Lord working in his life. This joy didn’t come from perfect circumstances or the perfect life; it came from having a changed perspective.
