The life, legacy, and controversies of Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson passed away Thursday at the age of ninety-three. The founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and longtime host of its flagship program, “The 700 Club,” was among the most influential figures in evangelical life for half a century. However, at times, he was also among the most controversial. What can we learn from his legacy to help us build our own in a way that glorifies God and helps people know him better?

Muslims are translating the Bible for Christians: How will your life translate the Bible today?

Muslims are translating the Bible for Christians: How will your life translate the Bible today?

Scripture makes clear that our fundamental job as Christians is to help people in every culture know Jesus and follow his word. Far too often, however, we make the mistake of underestimating how creative God can be in accomplishing that task. Two recent examples of the Lord working in unique ways challenge us to think bigger when it comes to what it means to translate his word to the lost around us.

Who destroyed the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine? And why it matters to you

Who destroyed the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine? And why it matters to you

Early Tuesday morning, a significant portion of the Nova Kakhovka dam and hydroelectric power station along the Dnieper River in Ukraine was destroyed. Now much of Ukraine’s most fertile land—and the projected battleground for its impending assault on Russia’s forces—is underwater. Most have blamed Russia, but is it that simple? And why should it matter to us?

Naked at the DMV and theology with ChatGPT: Why we can’t afford to take shortcuts to God

When Georgia recently joined the growing list of states that allow Digital Driver’s Licenses, they likely suspected that it could create a few issues. However, naked selfies likely were not at the top of their list. But all technology has a dark side, and that reality is particularly important when it comes to the growing trend of relying on AI for answers to some of our most pressing questions about God.

Why China’s present may be our future: A reflection on apocalyptic danger and transforming hope

The Tiananmen Square Massacre occurred on June 4, 1989, a startling event that revealed the brutality of the Chinese government. Today, as North Korea and Russia join China in bringing political instability to the globe, how ought we to react? What can we do as individual Christians to counter such apocalyptic danger?

Why are Christians calling for boycotts of Chick-fil-A and “The Chosen”?

Why are Christians calling for boycotts of Chick-fil-A and “The Chosen”?

Two staples of the Christian life for many—Chick-fil-A and The Chosen—have faced calls for boycotts in recent days after both have been accused of perpetuating a “woke” agenda. But have they? And even if that were true, are boycotts really the best way to respond? The answer is more complicated than you might think.

Essential Perspectives

After hearing Dr Denison speak years ago I was thrilled to learn of Denison Forum/Ministries online and in podcasts to help me discern truth in this blatantly broken world. I consider The Daily Article as essential reading/listening to arm myself in speaking truth in love. It would be mandatory curricula if I taught seminary! And I do use it regularly when teaching Bible Study. Thanks for all the effort and prayer that produces it.
