Episode 98: Bird Droppings
The Phillies led the Orioles by a bunch of runs in 1896, but that wouldn't stop them from losing in truly insane fashion. If that's not enough for you, we've got 1890s Philadelphia wedding superstitions, a public dog-whipping, and a game recap the author abandoned in the middle out of disgust.

Updating my review (original follows below) just to say that after about a year of listening I can’t help but feel these two have gotten even better. I find myself laughing out loud even more, and I think they’re bringing more and more structure to the premise with each episode. I especially enjoy the addition of the quick episodes as I feel that’ll give them more opportunities to connect the history to the team’s present trials (as they noted recently, plenty of dirty innings to be found in the past few years already). Keep up the good work Trev and Justin!

Love Justin and Trevor's work for The Good Phight and their presence on Twitter. So happy to see that something like this exists. I've been lamenting the fade-out of TGP's "Philadelphia Baseball Ghosts" series (I get it Justin, but throwing some shade your way anyway pal). So, very happy to see some more Philly baseball history #content out there. And, no joke, just yesterday I was thinking that I'd love to learn more about Phillies games of yore, specifically. Which begs the question: did I will The Dirty Inning into existence (even though it's been a thing for a few months now)? I like to think so, just as I like to think that Nelson Mandela died in prison and that my favorite book series as a child was The Berenstein Bears.
Not funny juvenile insulting dumb
Not funny stupid insulting to tripe Philly fans opposite of uplifting. If I am on a playlist for this bad idea and bad production please take me off and refund my money. Stuart Sacks Patreon subscriber listen religiously to all of your other programs
