I don't attend this church, nor have I ever been to any of the services, but a good friend who attends the Napa campus encouraged me to watch the May 2016 sermons in which lead pastor Dave Patterson preaches on spiritual gifts. I watched 1 video then another then another and another and again, until I have been making my way through all of them from the beginning.

I've been a believer for many years, but my faith was based in what Patterson refers to as "dead church" systems. I didn't know the gifts of the Holy Spirit were still experienced, IN ABUNDANCE, by God's people. That we are, in fact, commanded in scripture to seek and use those gifts, even today.

I go to a church in my hometown, a church I didn't really want to attend because it seemed too "weird"...but the Lord gently encouraged me to connect with His body there. Then my friend turned me on to the sermons at The Father's House, and this dual messaging from Patterson and the pastor where I attend have strengthened my faith, and served to bolster my belief that we are meant to dwell in a place where spiritual gifts are commonplace among Jesus' disciples. My boldness in seeking after the Lord - the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit - has been at a fully heated run, racing to replace dead religiosity with God-inspired teaching.

Patterson's style is well-versed, and based in New Testament teaching. My first impression of him was Bill Murray! They have a similar look, but it's also Patterson's humor. His delivery is well-timed, eloquent without sounding "uppity," earnest, pointed, well-researched, message-focused. His sermons are delivered in groupings under a common theme for 3-5 weeks, with sub-themes each week. Sermons are all about 35-40 minutes, and I actually wish they were longer. They're that good in terms of convicting power, style, and technical savvy (that last piece is not so important in person but watching the sermons on handheld technology, I appreciate the quality).

The Father's House has been added to the arsenal of tools I'm collecting in my faith "toolshed." These teachings stand alongside my Bible, my prayer journal, the time I spend in worship with the body of Christ, the time I spend at church, daily devotions, etc. I am so blessed by these sermons. And have every faith that you will be too.

I regularly attend The Fathers House but I haven't been called away for a while and it's such a blessing to catchup on everything missed via this podcast. Now I listen to it on my way to work everyday and I feel so inspired and driven by the word of God at a time when I'm primed to have the best God Gifted day of my life thus far! Thank you TFH for making these messages available 24/7. Because the Devil never rests and neither does the Power of God.
