We're getting ever nearer the end of season one of The Munsters Today and this week, we've got two absolute banger episodes. Roger and DeeDee Nelson really establish themselves as series regulars in "Neighborly Munsters" and we are absolutely froked about it. Also, we meet this series' version of Uncle Gil and he's just some weirdo painted green? And it's kinda great? -
137. May (2002) dir. Lucky McKee
Do you hear that sound? Like glass cracking? I'm sure it's nothing. Join us as we celebrate the month of May with some untreated mental illness, a Central Casting 80s punk, and a dog that definitely (probably) had all four legs last time we checked.

So, I accidentally stumbled upon this delightful abridged interpretation of Frankenstein performed with paper bag puppets and was surprised to discover it was created here in the Frankencast's hometown of Louisville, KY by the Louisville Free Public Library. So of course we had to share this with you all.

136. Gods and Monsters (1998) dir. Bill Condon
Here at the Frankencast, we've spent a lot of time talking about the Mother of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley, but we haven't really talked much about the Father of Frankenstein, James Whale. It's high-time we remedied that, so here we are talking about the Academy Award winning fictional retelling of the last days of Whale's life. Join us as we talk about some heavy topics and pay tribute to the man who is at least partially responsible for the nearly endless supply of Frankenstein films that allows us to do this show.

As we near the end of season one of the Munsters Today, the timeline is getting very confusing. We had some good character development going, and now this week we have all kinds of returning characters acting like they've never met before. Maybe it's Grandpa's fault somehow?

135. Frankenstein Unbound (1990) dir. Roger Corman
The Frankencast finally meets exploitation legend Roger Corman! And things get... unbound? Join us as we use up an entire talking car printer cartridge, make the worst time traveler choices ever, and use the most futuristic technology imaginable: The Clapper™️ (As Seen on TV).
