The Gamers' Inn Jocelyn and Ryan

After getting lost within the intro rabbit hole, we move over to discussing Ryan’s continued adventures in Zenless Zone Zero. Jocelyn updates us on the recently released Hearthstone expansion, Perils in Paradise. Before moving to the news, Ryan still has his Wii U hooked up and played The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. Over in the news Deadpool and Wolverine bring us Deadpool and Wolverine Xbox controllers with butts, Orcs Must Die returns in 2025 with a new entry, Halo is cancelled at Paramount+, and Bethesda developers unionize! We close the show with a listener email about rogue-like/lights and Hearthstone Battlegrounds.

We kick off the show with some thoughts on the TETRIS movie available on Apple TV+, then Ryan shares first impressions on Zenless Zone Zero. Jocelyn on the other hand has returned to World of Warcraft for a Mists of Pandaria event. Before moving to the news, as promised, we discuss Have a Nice Death. Good news is Jocelyn is out of her city building funk! Bad news is roguelikes still aren’t for her. In the news we have fresh stories on AI from Nvidia and Nintendo, as well as Microsoft’s changes to their Xbox Game Pass program.

Let’s get this out of the way right away, Ryan cancelled his PRE-ORDERS for the NES Championship thing. You’re welcome. Now, as we head into the show proper after a long weekend in Canada keep both innkeepers are busy as Ryan chats about the Apple Arcade game WHAT THE CAR? and Jocelyn gets a bit of city builder burnout with Fabledom. Moving into the news, Frostpunk 2 has been delayed until September, Nintendo swears they’ll have enough Switch Successor stock at launch, Steam shares some interesting controller data, and Nintendo sues some more.

Ryan and Jocelyn check out the new God simulator Reus 2, which proves to be a more complex game than it appears at first launch. Then we would normally move to the news, but this week we decided to have a topic discussion! How did we get into gaming you ask? Well now it’s time to find out!

Jocelyn completes her notebook filled journey through Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. After that we deep dive into the June Nintendo Direct which featured new Mario, new Zelda, and the return of Metroid Prime 4! We also discuss the possibility of a handheld Xbox experience and Arcane getting a second and final season this November on Netflix.

We have a news filled episode this week as we go over all the announcements during The Ghost of E3! We kick things off with the Geoff Keighley led Summer Game Fest, then move over to the PC Gaming Show. Before the break, we focus in on BioWare's reveal of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Wrapping up the show, we check in on the Xbox Games Showcase, including Phil Spencer's answer to the recent layoffs and shutdowns at his studios. Finally, we close out the show with a few thoughts on Ubisoft Forward.
