Exciting
Fun, maintains the feeling of adventure from the original while improving on some of the flaws. (Like having a likable main character)
Aviation Magic Steampunk Miniseries
This 8 episode miniseries companion to White’s Gearheart fiction / Audio Drama hybrid podcast is tons of fun. It’s tighter than the rambling Gearheart epic, and therefore feels a lot more coherent and complete. It does lean heavily in the world building of the previous series, but would be enjoyable as a stand-alone. Good music, too. Sure, you get women described as “birds” and otherwise talked down to/about. But there are also women in charge, with complicated motives, and driving important plot elements. So it’s a bit of a mix that way. And I’d love to see more rep in gender, generally ... as always. And so on. I don’t typically enjoy in-universe advertisements, but the ads here make me laugh out loud.
An excellent prequel
A fine prequel to Gearheart that gives us a interesting look into both the world and characters. Would love to see a little novella prequel for each character. Only thing I didn't like was the fact it will take awhile before we get more Gearheart
