On today’s podcast I welcome Chris Fortune to the show. Chris is the Montana regional director of the Mule Deer Foundation, a non-profit aimed at the conservation of Mule Deer and Blacktail Deer across the West. In this episode Chris and I discuss the current state of mule deer in Montana, including their declining number and challenges for mule deer and mule deer habitat across the state. We discuss the types of projects the Mule Deer Foundation participates in and we discuss how interested parties can get involved. Mule deer numbers are in as bad of shape as they have ever been in Montana. If you hunt mule deer, or you ever plan to hunt mule deer, I encourage you listen to this episode and urge you to get involved to the extent that you can.

On today’s podcast I welcome Jacob Sklenar to the show. Jacob is an up and coming hunter that I believe represents the best of the next generation of hunters. He's working smarter and working harder and his results speak for themselves. In 2023 he took his first two out of state bucks and arrowed his personal best buck in his home state of Wisconsin.
