The Huntington is Boston’s leading professional theatre and one of the region’s premier cultural assets. Dream Boston is a new series of audio plays that is a future vision of our city that is somewhere between dream and reality. Through short audio plays, Dream Boston asks local playwrights to imagine their favorite locations, landmarks, and friends in a future Boston, when we can once again meet and thrive in our city. These micro-plays take place at locations such as the MIT Great Dome on the 4th of July while the sounds of the “1812 Overture” float in the background, at the Boston Public Library where a librarian and library patron debate the ethics of reserving a book, and a not-so-perfect first date on the edge of the Boston Common.

Hamlet from Reduced Shakepeare Radio Show ,

54th and 22 transported me!

Thank you for brightening my afternoon with your reading. I felt as if I was right there with you on the awkward date. It was delightful to picture a time when people could still meet strangers and develop a relationship in person. History, romance, politics and compassion. Thank you.
