Side Pod 02: Come On, Get Happy!!

Side Pod 02: Come On, Get Happy!!

The only thing that could stop Elvis Costello in 1979 was himself. So he did. Crawling from the wreckage of an unfortunate scandal, he and his band made a curious document, 1980’s GET HAPPY!! Costello’s fourth album was propelled by the runaway train of his band, the Attractions. It was a musical romp of classic soul vibes but a lyrical tangle of wordplay and mea culpa.

How do you get 20 (20!) grooves onto one piece of vinyl? You jam.

This special side pod of The Jukebox Graduate has Dave and Eugene pondering over this piece of pop perfection. Including special side categories!

Get hip. Get downloaded. GET HAPPY!!

Here's a podcast by musicians about what they're listening to (complete with accompanying playlists per episode), reflections on music history, what life is like in the studio/on stage/on the road, etc. Also, musical guests! So much winning!
