The Local Dive is a podcast about the deep and shallow musings about Christ, the Church, and Culture. The podcast is hosted by Dean Inserra, Ashlyn Portero, and Alex Scott focused on leading in the local church, and living life engaged in our city. We take some deep dives into theology, ministry, Christianity, and culture, while also spending time wading around in the shallow end sharing our thoughts on the slightly more trivial things in life.

Great podcast!
The banter and the hosts’ genuine friendship keeps it fun, and I truly appreciate how much thought and nuance they provide to complex issues facing the Church!
“Like”
I really wanted to listen to this but couldn’t believe how the word like was used 4-6 times in every sentence. Sounds very immature and unprofessional. I’ll find another Bible study podcast.
You might want to think about how your listeners feel.
I have just recently (within three last 10 days) started studying the Bible. I found your podcast today and started listening to the intro podcast, recorded at the beginning o2021. Imagine how I feel with my NIV as a beginning studying t to think that I’m being called ‘less than’ for not using a more traditional version. This came out sounding sanctimonious, at minimum.
I actually started with Jesus Calling and use it to launch my daily lessons. I also have the APP Abide which has led me to learn and discover more verses and then of course those lead me to read further. I really don’t think your flippant descriptions of the readers of the NIV was not ill intended, but it really didn’t feel encouraging for a new comer. Perhaps you need to re-listen to this into pice with different ears. And perhaps re record with a different focus, to help new listeners, not dissuade them.
