The Animatrix Is Very Bleak (Part One)

The Animatrix Is Very Bleak (Part One)

Trigger Warnings for more or less the whole span of this episode, the shorts we cover in this episode deal heavily with the concepts of genocide, suicide, and contains lots of graphic imagery.

Ella and Hope begin the quest to talk about all the peripheral media released in 2003 for The Matrix sequels! They cover The Final Flight of the Osiris, The Second Renaissance Parts 1 & 2, and Kid's Story.

Ella and Hope get into the weeds on story structure, and believe it or not, they also each have a take on Werner Herzog.

Smithology Part 2: The Revenge of the Smith

It is PURPOSE that drives us...into PART TWO of our Agent Smith Love-a-thon.

With STEPHEN FOXWORTHY as AGENT WELLES.

(Stephen is @cheweywalrus just about everywhere. There's a lot of damn social media sites now, I can't keep up with it)

Smithology Part 1: The Man, The Smith, The Legend

Smithology Part 1: The Man, The Smith, The Legend

    This episode was inevitable.

Hope and Ella talk about their favorite Agent, Smith! They talk about Smith A LOT. They barely get through his wikipedia in this first half of a TWO PART SMITH SPECIAL, part 2 of which will be dropping later this month!

Stick around after the awkward split down the middle for a rare performance of Orson Welles reading the role of Agent Smith, and we will coincidentally thank friend of the show Stephen Foxworthy for no reason whatsoever.

Stephen is @chewywalrus on most forms of social media, and you should check out his show Disenfranchised, available at your local podcast dispensary.

The Matrix Revolutions (2003) is a very Third Movie

The Matrix Revolutions (2003) is a very Third Movie

Ella and Hope talk about Agent Smith, Sad Morpheus, boring middle acts,  loose references to Norse mythology, some truly godawful puns, Agent Smith, and one of the greatest fight sequences of all time. ASATO MA SAD GOMYA!

Passion, wittiness and humor

Love this podcast. Made me fall in love with his franchise. I was also unaware of the creators being trans women and so to hear the not so subtle takes that I was seemingly oblivious to is quite eye-opening.

A Podcast Wonderland

“I imagine that right now you’re feeling a bit like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole?”

This is already a fantastic ride of a podcast, both for long-time Matrix fans and newer ones like myself. It’s a blast seeing this franchise analyzed both artistically and from a queer perspective, with Hope and Ella bringing an amazing blend of humor and heart.

Eagerly awaiting what else this podcast has in store!
