After a few weeks off, The ME7 Podcast is back, and there’s plenty to talk about!
Since our last show, a lot has happened at Priestfield. We’d just appointed Mark Bonner as the team’s new first-team manager, but we didn’t know what the summer transfer period would hold. Now we know a fair bit more.
Gillingham have done swift business already, with striker Elliott Nevitt arriving from Crewe, AFC Wimbledon midfielder Armani Little joining the club, and wingers Jack Nolan and Aaron Rowe both adding creativity, pace and goals to wide areas.
Owen takes the helm as our early-summer pod looks at the business done so far, assesses the qualities we’ve added to our squad, and considered what else we might expect from the remainder of the off-season.

Former Gillingham striker and Priestfield legend Danny Kedwell teamed up with some of The ME7 Podcast crew as they took to the pitch for a special Mental Health Charity Match against Medway United.

The wait for a new Gills boss was a mercifully short one, with the news coming on Tuesday that the club had appointed former Cambridge United boss Mark Bonner as the new “First-Team Manager” at Priestfield.
It puts the club in the perfect position ahead of the summer transfer window, as Bonner arrives with all the time he needs to make the necessary moves to strengthen the side and build his team ahead of the 2024/25 League 2 season.

The Stephen Clemence era is officially over at Gillingham Football Club.
After an initial social media report from The Telegraph’s John Percy suggesting the club had sacked Clemence and Robbie Stockdale, an official statement from the club confirmed the news.
It means Priestfield is set for another wild summer as we look to appoint Clemence’s successor, then start the necessary job of improving the squad ahead of next season.
The big questions now are:
* Were owner Brad Galinson and managing director Joe Comper right to pull the trigger?
* Now Clemence has gone, who should take over?
* And what should become of the club’s recruitment team?
