25th November 2022 - FA Cup 2 & Boreham Wood
More sound Gremlins as we reach FA Cup Round 2. Phil Annets is on hand - although seemingly abducted by aliens in the sound department - as we discuss the 40 sides and 20 ties in this round of the greatest cup competition in the world.
One man who agrees with that definition is Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard. Just one more win and it will be a remarkable three successive Third Rounds in the competition for him and his club, but there's just the small matter of Bristol Rovers in between first.
Rounding up the week's news and previewing the weekend's paper is Executive Editor at The Non League Paper Jon Couch, as we provide another hour of the finest non league information around... even if the sound is a bit iffy this week.
18th November 2022 - FA Trophy Round 2 - The Minimal Show
Gremlins got into the desk, making the two guest interviews - and the original open and closers - unlistenable. So up against time for release here's a minimal show with Tim Fuell and Matt Badcock rounding up the week's news and hopefully later on today will follow the very interesting interviews with this week's other guests!
Thanks for your patience.
11th November 2022 - FA Vase Round 2, Newport Pagnell Town & Pinchbeck United
We hit Round 2 of the FA Vase competition. Phil Annets is on hand wearing his @FavaseFactfile hat to give some insight into the big stories set to break with his stats and facts on those taking part this weekend. We thentalk to last year’s winning manager, Gary Flinn still at Newport Pagnell Town and hoping to get his side’s defence of the crown off to a winning start this weekend.
We also talk to another manager of a United Counties League side, Lewis Thorogood at Pinchbeck United. They diced with relegation last season and he admits they were lucky but they are using that opportunity to spur themselves on and see an FA Vase run as a perfect chance to do so.
Rounding it all up is Jon Couch from the Non League paper. The FA Cup grabs the headlines this week with the FA Vase and National League claiming plenty of column inches in this weekend’s paper too.
04th November 2022 - FA Cup First Round, Coalville Town and South Shields
As the FA Cup reaches the First Round and we begin to share the competition with the Pro Clubs, @FACupFactfile Mr Phil Annets has another batch of stats, facts and interesting insights about the 32 non league clubs taking part.
We talk with Coalville Town boss Adam Stevens on his love for the club, beating Notts County last round and where his club is heading, competing on multi-fronts this season.
You can hear the pride already in the voice of Geoff Thompson, Chairman at South Shields as they prepare to host Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. It will be a record crowd enjoying the progress on and off the field made during his seven year involvement but there is much more to come.
Matt Badcock is on hand to round up the week's big news and preview this weekend's Non League Paper in a another bumper show and massive showcase weekend for non league.
28th October 2022 - Folkestone Invicta & Leiston Plus FA Trophy Rd 1
For the fans by the fans has always been our motto and it's fair to say our two guests this week are Non League fans through and through.
First up this week is old friend of the show Neil Cugley. A Non-league legend with all he has achieved at Folkestone Invicta in his 26 years there as manager. He was due to step down at the end of the season but this week announced an early departure. Putting some fears to rest he joins us to confirm he’s just leaving the dugout so he can focus all his attention on keeping his club afloat with is club Director’s hat on.
It’s the FA Trophy FIrst Round this weekend. 32 ties with 64 clubs involved from Steps 3 and Steps 4 including the East Anglian Derby. We speak with joint manager at Leiston Chris Wigger about his time as a player and manager at Wroxham and his friendship with Wroxham boss Jordan Southgate as their two sides ready to meet this weekend.
Rounding off the show, Jon Couch is on hand to help give us a heads-up of what this weekend's Non League Paper will contain.
21st October 2022 - FA Vase R1, Newcastle University & Cribbs
It's FA Vase Round 1.
Tim Fuell speaks with @FAVaseFactfile Phil Annets about the 206 ties ahead this weekend before talking to a club from Step 5 and one from Step 6.
From Step 5, unbeaten in the Hellenic Premier, Cribbs boss Richard Luffman is eyeing promotion but also a decent run in the FA Vase as he believes the club have all the right ingredients to go a long way.
At Step 6 Kelly Scott is Chairman of Newcastle University in the Northern League Division Two. They travel to Step 5 club Hallam in the Vase this weekend, aiming for only their third ever FA Vase win - the other two having also come this season. One of the busiest men in football, Kelly also with his Dad helps head up community club Newcastle East End. Chairman, Welfare Officer, Coach he does it all but loves every moment.
Rounding up the week's news and what's to come in the weekend's paper is Matt Badcock Editor at Large at The Non League Paper.
Simply the best spot for non-league football out there. Great vignette from all the angles of the game. Managers, players, administrators, and of course fans .
Still the Best!
The show keeps moving around and has had a number of past incarnations, but, it is still the best show for Non-league football news for all you sports fans. No other show like it in the UK or the US. Maybe the world. By the fans for the fans.
