Live in Malta with Mike Phelan

Live in Malta with Mike Phelan

For the first time ever the UTD podcast has been filmed in front of a live audience! We're back in Malta but this time we've got the whole gang together plus our special guest Mike Phelan.
Back in early February Sam, Helen & Maysie were invited by the supporters' club to celebrate their 65th anniversary and they had plenty of activities planned for us. Thank you to everyone at the Manchester United Supporters' Club Malta for your hospitality.
Mike Phelan has been on the UTD podcast before talking about his coaching career, so this was the perfect opportunity to focus more on his playing days. As well as his time at Burnley and Norwich, he talks about how he first joined United during that early Alex Ferguson era, before the gaffer had won a single trophy at United. Mike shares his memories of that famous 1990 FA Cup victory and tells the audience how things really clicked into place after that, putting in place the foundations for domination in the years that followed.
Maysie and Mike were also able to take some questions from the audience. Don't miss this truly unique episode of the UTD podcast!

Marouane Fellaini - "The most difficult season of my life"

Marouane Fellaini - "The most difficult season of my life"

Marouane Fellaini, who was Manchester United’s first major signing of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, sat down with Helen Evans and Sam Homewood to discuss his journey with the Reds between 2013 and 2019. The Belgium international, who announced his retirement from football in February 2024, admits his first season at the club was ‘the worst of his career’, but highlights his hard work and dedication in recovering to become a vital contributor to trophy wins under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.
Marouane also touches upon his early career with Standard Liege and Everton, moving to China and living through Covid there and what’s next after hanging up his boots, in an honest, open and insightful listen.
As mentioned by Sam, you can check out Harsh Nair's portraits here @harsh05nair_art Thank you for sending them into us Harsh!

Emma Watson – “The biggest high to the lowest low”

Emma Watson – “The biggest high to the lowest low”

Sam, Helen and Maysie are back at Carrington to speak to Emma Watson. The Scot joined United from Rangers in the summer of 2023 at the young age of 17 but unfortunately suffered an ACL injury while on international duty, shortly after signing. She opens up about how she is coping with this difficult stage in her career and what her future ambitions are, and believe us, she has big ambitions!

Emma’s career is still in its infancy, but that hasn’t stopped her tasting success. She’s a Scotland international, she’s scored in the Champions League, she won the 2021/22 Scottish Women's Premier League title and if that wasn’t enough, she was named PFA Scotland Women's Young Player of the Year. Wow, you can see why Marc Skinner wanted to sign her!

Enjoy this conversation with a rising star.
Our women's team have an exciting end of season in store, including an FA Cup semi-final and a match at Old Trafford. You can get behind them and purchase your match tickets here.

Brilliant Podcast... New Fave and It’s Not Close

Obviously this is an absolute dream for Manchester United fans, so the premise alone is 5 star. But then add to it the excellent chemistry amongst the interviewers and insane likability of David Mays- u now have the best Podcast since the First Season of Serial,

But where the heck is Teddy Sheringham!? Such a class player. Want to hear from him. He had such an interesting time at United and was a completely unheralded star from the ‘99 champions league final. Goal and an assist in two minutes!? Ole out, teddy in!
