Passionate, Curious, Introspective, Insightful, and Empathetic

Alec has an amazing talent as an interviewer, and is able to elevate a regular conversation to a philosophical but still deeply humanistic place. The overall tone of the podcast is welcoming and accessible and refuses to take an elitist academic attitude, despite the candid conversations being stuffed with academic research, career researchers, and the like.

Alec and the Order of Things is able to create a space that is willing to explore in great depth whatever uncomfortable and messy topics are to be found in the current moment of our society. Alec is passionate and engaged and for the guests and listeners who have the treat of tuning in, that energy is contagious, and the podcasts episodes always leave me feeling empowered to participate in society.

5 stars

I don't usually write reviews, but I just listened to the episode with Ron Purser and thought it was amazing. It was captivating and full of things I needed to hear from other people in order to feel sane. I think this is my new favorite podcast.

Incisive yet lighthearted

Alec gets right to business, diving into the ideas of his guests’ books, making every episode concise. Guest request: Could David Courtwright come on to talk about limbic capitalism?
