    Episode 8 | Peter and Megan Buck - 3 Kids Under 4

    Episode 8 | Peter and Megan Buck - 3 Kids Under 4

Today we are super excited to be spending time with Peter and Megan. They‘ve been married for almost eight years in December.

Peter works full-time, and Megan left her job as a teacher to stay home with their three boys. They are parenting three under four years old, and I think she used the word ”rollercoaster” to describe it.

I feel really strongly that after spending time with them and listening to them that whether you‘re married, single, or a different type of parent, I think you‘ll learn a lot from Peter and Megan.

    Enjoy!

Episode 7 | Beth Hunter - Parenting Through Anxiety

Episode 7 | Beth Hunter - Parenting Through Anxiety

This week we had a conversation with Beth Hunter, a mental health therapist and a parent to three grown children. She‘s going to talk to us about how we can help our kids manage anxiety and about three different types of anxiety, ranging from stress all the way through to depression and anger.

She gives some great steps to us parents on how to manage the anxiety our children are dealing with intentionally. So we hope that this episode will work as a translator of sorts for parents to realize, oh, my kid is experiencing this emotion because of X, Y, and Z or ABC., and there are ways that I can validate that and learn to interpret that. This episode offers parents the hope that it is never too late to have a positive relationship with your family.

    Enjoy!

Episode 6 | Vanessa Clinton - Biracial Parenting

Episode 6 | Vanessa Clinton - Biracial Parenting

This week’s guest on The Parent Club is Vanessa Clinton. She is a mom, an educator, and just an amazing biracial woman who is married a black man and is raising biracial children. Vanessa was raised by two white parents and in this episode, she leans into her experiences about what that‘s like.

We wanted parents to hear that story because this is real life. Unless you‘ve been living under a rock, this is a thing that we talk about a lot in our country and it does affect how we parent, regardless of whether you are a non-white family or a white family.

We hope it helps you to think about being more intentional in your interactions in all things, while raising your little humans. Enjoy!

Episode 4 | Emily Wells - Single Parenting

Today we talked to single parent Emily Wells. She had such amazing gems for us that can take some of the parenting perfection guilt off of us all, whether we are part of a couple or not. Community is very important to her as a single parent and she talks about how they are even more important for single parents. It all comes down to the fact that Emily loves Jesus and His people and it is highlighted in this amazing conversation.

A grateful listener

I am grateful for this podcast that shares life experiences of parents and families with various backgrounds to help others to navigate the space of parenthood and to help you understand you’re not alone. Regardless of the background of each guest, something about their story has resonated with me and I have found precious nuggets of advice that I could apply in my life. This podcast for me is a wonderful resource because there are many parallels drawn between parenting and a relationship with God. Thank you Matt and Melanie for hosting and asking thoughtful questions of each guest.

So GOOD!!

Wow what an amazing podcast! Thank you so much for this. My kids are 4-16 in age and this just makes me feel not alone. The single parent episode really hit me hard. Being a teen mom then a single mom for years it helps me know I’m not alone. I love the real talk and being so humble. Thank you so very much! Got Bless

Just Amazing

Thank you Matt and Melanie for hosting this amazing podcast. So real to what many are feeling and struggling with as parents. Found myself in tears because I related to so much of what Ashleigh was saying in regards to Post-pardem and anger. People need to know that they are not alone in their parenting journey, and this podcast is doing just that. Thank you!
