Solutions That Work
Well researched and enlightening lecture series. Highly recommend.
Theology professor should stick to Theology
If you are serious about what you can do to bring prosperity to poor nations, please read the likes of Easterly; Or follow the excellent evidence based work being done by MIT’s poverty action lab.
However, if you are the kind that says “if only they think and act like us, they’d be rich too!” Then read this book and feel great about yourself.
You won’t do much good to those nations, but it may do wonders to your self esteem.
The author essentially says if the nation’s culture is based on Christian beliefs, they will be prosperous. Then, why are the Philippines, Romania, Argentina not rich? Why is Japan rich? The professor doesn’t go near those topics.
As I said before,
You won’t do much good to those nations, but it may do wonders to your self esteem.
