Throughout the years, I've come to believe two truths: one, everyone leads someone, and two, no one really feels qualified to lead anyone. Add the pressure put on us by culture to have all the answers in a world full of confusion, and you've got a recipe for reluctant leaders. Thankfully, when it comes to leading in the Bible and in life, the most qualified aren't always the most obvious. This podcast is a conversation for all of us who want to lead well but never feel like we are.New episodes are released on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month.

TRLP 039: Never - and we mean, NEVER - stop planting because the harvest IS coming

As we wrap up our "Restored to Health" miniseries in Psalm 126, the psalmist reminds us that even after we've been restored, there is work to be done.

Even more importantly, he reminds us that the work often still feels like work, and yet he holds out the very real hope that when the sowing brings us pain, the reaping will bring us bounty.

TRLP 038: Let's Talk About Taking Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Back, and Why Sometimes That Might be Normal

We've all been there. We've gone public about something amazing that God has done in our lives, churches, businesses, or ministries only to wake up the next day and find ourselves wondering if it really happened?

In this episode, we can take comfort in the fact that the people of God also lived in the "now and not yet" places we find ourselves. Yes, God had brought back the captives (Psalm 126:1), and yet in Psalm 126:4 they asked Him to do it again.

    Or did they?

Let's find out together in part 4 of our "Restored to Health" miniseries in Psalm 126.

TRLP 037: Let's Talk About a Four Letter Word with the Power to Get Us Through the Process

TRLP 037: Let's Talk About a Four Letter Word with the Power to Get Us Through the Process

Sometimes the process of being restored to joy is just that ... a process. That process can be daunting and overwhelming if we think it's about being the perfect leader or the perfect person, but when we accept as fact that the Lord has restored us to health, then the process can become a celebration of all that the Lord has done to this point.

    No more hiding or pretending.

No more masks or fake smiles.

"Here I raise my Ebeneezer" because thus far, to this point in the process, the Lord has been my help. And that means, He'll continue to be from this point forward, too.

As we continue our miniseries in Psalm 126, let's talk about the things that mark us when we're living lives that have been restored to health: joy, song, laughter, and the global influence that comes with a life of integrity.

Will we always feel like we're living up to that list? Of course not. But as we'll see in this episode, that doesn't mean that it isn't still true.

Join us as we continue our journey toward restored spiritual and emotional health, and as we learn the power of proclaiming what we remember about God's goodness. Let's overcome the enemy by testifying about what Jesus has done for us!

TRLP 034 - Let's Talk About How to Live Beyond Regret and How to Stay Out of Hell

TRLP 034 - Let's Talk About How to Live Beyond Regret and How to Stay Out of Hell

Is hell "down there?" If it is, then why do we often talk about "hell on earth?" Why does the regret we experience at night as we replay the day feel so much like hell already, and how can we learn to live beyond it?

Is peace even possible, or are we destined to stay stuck in a Groundhog Day of bad decisions and painful regret?

In this episode, Paul shares some interesting insights into what hell might be and sheds some light on how God's goodness in this life gives us time to prepare for the next.

Want to schedule some time to chat with Paul by phone or over coffee? You can do that here.

Great discussion on vital topics!

Tired of trying to please God and failing, and then either lying to yourself and/or wallowing in shame? Check out this timely discussion for all Christians, and especially leaders/achievers. I’ve known Paul Jenkins since we were in first grade. It’s thrilling to watch and listen as the Lord uses his passion and giftedness, but also his transparency and humility to further His Kingdom.

Love this podcast. So edifying!

This podcast is like balm for the soul! Paul delivers such encouraging truth based on God’s Word - and with a grace that doesn’t feel heavy, but instead helps reveal the ways God’s presence and strength is already available for us, coming alongside us and making the yoke we’re carrying so much easier and lighter.

Refreshing and encouraging

This podcast should be a must for all believers, whether you consider yourself a church leader or not. As Paul mentions in the first episode, we all lead someone. Even in just these first two episodes, I already feel more willing to accept the assignments God has for me, knowing that if I give Him back what He’s put in my hand, He will do the rest. Thank you, Paul, for answering the call to this podcast.
For anyone who is not familiar with Paul, we’ve know him for many years and have seen the fruit of his life and ministry. He’s the real deal.
