The Best Interviewer

Sage Steele is an incredible interviewer. She enables her guests to open up and be vulnerable without trick questions or cheap shots.

A great change of pace

I heard Sage’s interviews on other podcasts that I listen to which are more political. I love her interview style and openness. I’ve listened to three interviews so far and I’m hooked. I’ve taken a break from most political podcasts and I just happened to listen to her interviews and I’m so glad I did. It’s so great just to hear an actual conversation and not a debate. People are people no matter their views, we need to humanize and not demonize people for having a different opinion and this show is exactly that.

Unpopular Opinion

While I am glad Riley Gaines is speaking up about men playing in women’s sport it almost feels a little too late. I wish she could admit she made a mistake at the time and trying to rectify it now. She should be telling people don’t do what I did, you need to speak up and be bold now because the time to be bold and brave would have been to refuse to swim against Lia Thomas during that meet. To refuse to go in the locker room with him. To refuse being part of the photo op. The time to stand up is when it occurs not 6 months to a year after when you are graduated, done with swimming and no longer competing. A true leader stands up during the chaos not way after the fact. A true leader is admitting when you made a mistake. Such as if I knew then what I know now I would have done things differently, learn from my mistakes. But look at the cost her decision to swim against Lia Thomas has done. It has opened the gates for more men to compete in women’s sports.
