    Thursday Retrospective

    Thursday Retrospective

Thanks to the suggestion of one of our listeners on Discord, today we're doing a retrospective of one of Mike's favorite bands, New Jersey darling's Thursday. They were one of the pioneers of the second wave of emo during the 2000s and have since influenced a ton of bands that we all have come to love, including My Chemical Romance. Join us as we go through each of their albums from 1999 to 2011 as we anticipate the release of their new song and (hopefully) their new music going into the future!

Also on the episode, we share our thoughts on albums from artists like girl in red, Mark Knopler, Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, Taylor Swift, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Pearl Jam, and Eidola

Is This Good?! - feat. Music From Richard Marx and John Parr

After a brief hiatus, we’re back! Thank you for continuing to stick around and show your support while Mike needed some time off to care for his wife.

On this week’s episode, we’re trying out a new segment we’re calling “Is This Good?!” in which Mike and Adam submit a song that they love, despite its flaws, and debate the song’s merits before finally determining whether or not the song is “good”. On this inaugural episode, we’re bringing “Hazard” by Richard Marx and “St Elmo’s Fire” by John Parr. We hope you enjoy!

Also discussed, thoughts on new albums and music from the past that we’ve been listening to for the past month from artists like nothing, nowhere., girl in red, Delta Rae, IDKHBTFM, Too Close To Touch, Taylor Swift, Maggie Lindemann, Makari, Cory Wells, Night Verses, Dan Spencer, Tracy Chapman, and more! We’re ALL OVER THE PLACE this week!

Incredible Podcast

I have been listening to Mike and Adam for five plus years now. At the time I started, I was just diving full on back into the Warped Tour scene after a couple of years off. Most of my friends had outgrown that music style so Mike and Adam’s podcast became one of the only places where I could hear my favorite new albums and bands discussed at length. This podcast is hilarious and the hosts have an excellent rapport that really leads to a fun time each episode. I am particularly fond of their year end lists and track by track reviews of their favorite (and particularly their not so favorite) albums. I highly recommend this podcast to any fan of the alternative music scene or anyone who just enjoys great humor and an ear for great music.

Yup.

Came for the Sleepwalkers review, cause I’m ravenous Brian Fallon junky, and am staying for the great shows and intro to great “ditties”. The “best songs of 2018 (6-1)” may be the best podcast episode ever. Love and sincerely appreciate the soul-baring discussion and connection to music, not to mention the gushing over L. and S. Mr. Fallon.

Thanks for the intro to the Menzies. Catching up on all the yearly “top” episodes and such, and loving them all. The teens etc episodes are great. Thanks for sharing so much, guys. It’s moving and real and beautiful... Great music. Wonderful glimpses into real personal life. Fantastic fun. Please don’t stop.

Amazing Podcast (In Memoriam)

The Skinny is the best place to get genuine discussions about music ranging from Metalcore/Post hardcore/Indie Rock/and so much more. Add in some great comedic timing and you have one of the best podcasts in the scene. Even if they’re on hiatus, go back and listen to the back catalogue, you won’t regret it. I think the best way to describe the host would be “Those perverts that talk about screaming music”-DSD’s Grandma. How can you not love this show.
