Does God punish people through natural disasters?

Does God punish people through natural disasters?

The Bible repeatedly describes God as punishing entire human populations by way of natural disasters like floods, droughts, earthquakes, and volcanic explosions. But how is that consistent with a loving, just, and merciful God? And must a Christian believe this? Hamtown Madman ,

Always thought provoking

I am very glad Dr. Rauser relaunched this podcast. While he is more theologically progressive than I am, what he writes and speaks about is always worth thought and of vital importance for western Christianity and evangelicalism. He is doing exactly what philosophical theologians should do, and I have been greatly blessed by Rauser's help in puzzling through the issues even when the solutions I embrace are different.
