Matt V braved the elements to spend a day at the Smokestack BBQ Supply store in Alexandria, MN and chatted with Alan Larrimore or Wrecking Crew BBQ, Alan was at the store to cook up delicious samples for customers and as a brand ambassador was able to help customers in their product choices that day. Alan is a great friend of the show and we hear about his wonderful year in the KCBS and the MBS. Jason Schmidt of Smokin' Brews and 'Ques food trailer stopped in with some libations and we chatted about his catering business as well. BBQ was a hobby of mine for many years.

I am married with 2 grown children, a recently added son in law and soon-to-be grandpa.

I am also a retired volunteer firefighter who has a passion for serving our community.

The hobby quickly grew into a part time gig and 2 years ago I took the leap to making it a full time business.

Catering and pop ups are the ways I can stay connected to our community.

I have a passion for creating delicious BBQ that brings people together.

UNQC - Smokestack Express BBQ in Apple Valley!

All aboard! Welcome to Smokestack Express, the ultimate smoked meats experience! Their drive-up, take out smokehouses attached to Cowboy Jacks on the southeast corner of Cedar Avenue and County Road 42 in Apple Valley! A whole lot goes into smoking meats! It's not as simple as throwing a steak on the grill. They start with premium cuts of meat, prepare them with their "secret" rubs and sauces, and smoke them at low, steady temperatures for up to 16 hours. Just place your order and grab an incredible meal to go.

Matt and Torrey were treated to some slow smoked brisket and pulled pork, absolutely delicious. With a super tender texture and a tasty smoke this restaurant is something special. We talk with owner and operator Trevor Schneider about why he chose Apple Valley and what's coming up for the Smokestack Express restaurant.
