Thursday | 10/29/2020 | From Elgin to Aurora: A Conversation w/ Anthony 4 Elgin Good Morning Aurora

    • Daily News

We learned about public service, the city of Elgin and a commitment to constituents today. We had the great opportunity to speak with Anthony Ortiz, candidate for Elgin City Council today. As we talked we got to learn about Anthony’s background and what his vision is for his city. As a Marine Corps veteran, he has served his country and now he continues his service. Transparency & increased services for residents are just a few things Anthony has in mind for Elgin. Being a candidate during a pandemic is certainly hard so we got the full experience from Anthony about the benefits of virtual. Many individuals are not aware of people who are running or what they stand for. They are also unsure about where to turn for help. All of these things can be better strengthened and we commend Anthony for his efforts. Elgin has a smaller population than Aurora, so voter turnout is key!

Shouts go to the GAR Museum, Tredwell & ACTS (A Call Ro Shoulders). Also special thanks for our friends at Cotton Seed and the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Don’t forget to take part in the C.H.A.N.G.E. Initiative listening sessions, the next is this evening at Impact Church. Shout out to the Aurora Public Art Commission and don’t forget its Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness month as well. Be helpful to others and be strong; tune in tomorrow for another great episode. Luigi’s on Halloween and more fun activities to come! Oh and don't forget to vote!
