Good morning and happy Thursday! We have the news you love and two great guests. Today we have our friends Cindy Del Cid & Simón Rodríguez Jr. of City of Aurora Youth Services here to tell us about summer programs. Parents tune in! This will be helpful information. Here is today's news:
- The Kane County State's Attorney's Office in conjunction with Kane Senior Services will be hosting an online Facebook live video on the physical, mental and financial impact of elder abuse. This will take place from 6 to 7 pm on May 26th. Panelists featured will be FBI Special Agent Siobhan Johnson, Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain and many others. - Aurora’s Juneteenth celebration will be taking place on Saturday June 18th from 3:30 to 7:30 pm. This will be held at Martin Luther King Jr. park on the city’s east side at Farnsworth & Grand boulevard/ Free admission and the public is invited! There will be prizes, poetry, live entertainment and a whole lot more. This event is sponsored by the African American Men of Unity, The Aurora African American Heritage Board and the City of Aurora, IL, Government. Come out and have some fun this summer!
- The 15th Annual Health Fair is taking place on Saturday, June 11th from 9 am to noon. Hosted by the Aurora African American Health Coalition and in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, this great event will take place at the Prisco Center (150 W. Illinois Ave.). This event is free and open to the public: there will be giveaways, speakers, vendors and health screenings at no cost! This will be a great community event for the entire family!
