Welcome back to Volume 2 of the Party Favorz Top Dance Songs of 2023, showcasing this year's most significant dance hits!

A prominent trend in today’s music consumption is streaming, a phenomenon that gained even more importance during the pandemic, impacting the dance music industry significantly. While festivals still thrive with their EDM-centric, visually spectacular shows, club venues have suffered, leading to the closure of the Billboard Dance Club chart due to reduced DJ feedback from large venues.

Even in major cities, where nightlife is concentrated, this shift has resulted in a decrease in the volume of new dance music releases. At Party Favorz, we've felt this reduction since last year. With less music comes fewer standout hits, and many of today’s hits often sample popular tracks from 10 to 20 years ago, repurposing these melodies into new creations.

However, the silver lining in fewer releases is that it allows gems like "Water" by Tyla, "Body Moving" by Eliza Rose and Calvin Harris, and Peggy Gou’s hit "(It Goes Like) Nanana" to shine, reaching a broader audience. In a different era, these tracks might have been overshadowed by a flood of new music.



Exploring other dance music genres, artists have reinvigorated styles like Drum 'n' Bass. While not our personal favorite, especially in a full DJ set, it has its place. Becky Hill's "Disconnect" is so Punk Rock that the D'n'B production by Chase & Status was a natural fit for the son...

This ambitious endeavor involved a deep dive into our 2023 Club Fusion and Peak Hour releases to compile the most impactful dance anthems that left their mark on the dance floor and resonated as unforgettable earworms.

Our selection process focused on streaming numbers from platforms like YouTube and Spotify, complemented by our own personal bias. We've bypassed conventional charts like Billboard, seeking out the true gems that define the year's dance music zeitgeist, far from the repetitive playlists of mainstream charts.

Party Favorz presents Volume 2 of the Best Dance Songs of 2022 - an honest reflection on this year's top tracks. While 2022 hasn't been a standout year for club music, there were still some incredible songs that deserve recognition. However, it's worth noting that many new releases seem to be dominated by a select group of artists, resulting in a familiar and somewhat stale style. This repetitive approach, often dark and somewhat depressing, has left the industry craving originality. Regardless, these two volume reprsent the best dance songs of the year for 2022.







Unfortunately, new releases have been scarce, and breakout hits even rarer. Typically, we witness at least three massive hits that carry over into the following year, but this time, they are noticeably absent. Even the revival of NuDisco has become tiresome, as repetitive beats with different lyrics no longer captivate audiences. Disco, once a diverse and vibrant genre, is not accurately represented in today's music landscape.







The industry lacks the juice and originality that made it so thrilling, even when sampling older songs. Will 2023 be the year that Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Rihanna, accompanied by their tours, breathe life into this stale industry? While their tours are sure to be a success, their impact on the dance floor remains uncertain.

Discover the top dance songs of 2021 volume 3, as curated by Party Favorz, in our annual review. Our selection process for our Year's Best Dance Tracks involves meticulous research and collaboration with two DJ promotional sources, for both official remixes and unofficial bootlegs and mashups. We partner with various labels and DJs and utilize platforms such as Beatport, Traxsource, and Bandcamp to find the best beats that might not be available through traditional channels. Moreover, we keep an eye on SoundCloud to discover promising new DJ talents.







Despite the thoroughness of our process, it's inevitable that some gems will slip through. In 2023, we missed out on a few fantastic tracks. The list includes "Gold" by Austin Millz & Aluna, a track we cannot praise enough; "Sunshine" by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled & Amorphous, and "Please", the final release from Jessie Ware's highly acclaimed 2020 album "What's Your Pleasure?". Ware's departure from her usual melancholic vibe towards a more positive, Disco-themed album resonated with many listeners, notably following Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia".

Welcome to the Top Dance Songs of 2021 Volume 2. In the dance music landscape, 2021 mirrored the trends of 2020, with Future House, Tech House, and NuDisco persistently dominating the scene, reinforcing their catchy beats into our collective musical psyche.







The year 2021 marked the emergence of a new wave of DJs making significant strides. Among them, Chicago's John Summit took center stage with his profound deep house vibes resonating with a wide audience. His popular tracks such as "Sun Came Up" (in collaboration with Sofi Tukker), "Better Than This" (with Parachute Youth), and "Human" (with Echoes) propelled him into stardom, while he still maintained the charm of his 2020 hits "Deep End" and "Thin Line" (with Guz).







Another standout artist was Brazil's Vintage Culture (Lukas Rafael Ruiz Hespanhol), who has been in the scene for a bit longer.
