Hello and welcome to the Traxion Podcast. This will be a weekly podcast about racing video games, hosted by John Munro, Tom Harrison-Lord and Justin Sutton. Racing games have played a big role in all of our lives to this point, and If you are listening to this then we are sure it’s the same for you too. What we aim to do is bring together racing game fans from all genres, whether that be casual arcade racers, retro gamers or even hardcore sim racers. We are open to any topics, from celebrating the best games of a certain era, to ranking a franchise and, of course, trying to settle the big racing game debates once and for all. From Excite Bike to F1 2021, and almost everything in between, we've played a lot of racing games in our time, and quite frankly we don't plan on stopping any time soon. Whether you're on a wheel, controller, or keyboard, it doesn't matter, we're going to have a blast while racing against the clock, the AI, or other human beings. Two doors or four, open wheels, ovals and road courses, we love it all, and we love talking about it even more. As a group of fellow racing game nerds, we each have our own unique opinions, so we won’t always agree. Join us on our journey through the wide spectrum of the genre. Who knows, sometimes we may be mildly entertaining. So, with all of that in mind, keep listening for more coming very soon. What we'd like to see in the new NASCAR game | The Traxion.GG Podcast | S02E08
Last week, Motorsport Games spoke to IGN about the upcoming NASCAR game, the first in an all-new series that replaces the existing NASCAR Heat franchise.
Utilising the tyre and handling physics of PC-sim platform rFactor 2 and the Unreal game engine for graphics, a selection of static images has been revealed showing off the new look and additional attention to detail.
Not much else has been revealed, other than the working title of ‘NASCAR 21’ and the inclusion of a detailed paint booth for customer paint scheme creation.
Joining us this week is NASCAR expert and journalist Justin Melillo to comb through the finer details of the details, plus a look back at the Heat series and a current round up of official NASCAR content within existing titles.
Think of this as a current NASCAR-in-gaming state of play plus our hopes and dreams for the upcoming release.

Just how good is F1 2021’s Braking Point story? | The Traxion.GG Podcast | S02E07
The biggest feature of the F1 2021 game is arguable the all-new Braking Point narrative-led mode.
Playing through a story that mixes cinematics, incidental details and gameplay challenges, you take on the role of young upstart, Aiden Jackson, as he progresses from Formula 2 to a midfield Formula 1 team.
You get to select from one of five F1 teams to partner with and joining you as an experienced teammate is Casper ‘Cas’ Akkerman. It’s not just two characters though, as antagonist Devon Butler from F1 2019 makes a comeback, and there’s also Zoe Akkerman and team liaison Brian Doyle to deal with.
In this episode of the Traxion.GG Podcast, Thomas Harrison-Lord and Rich Hutson discuss the highs, the lows, the good, the bad and whether overall, they would recommend playing this new story.
Here’s a very mild spoiler warning, but not key character or story elements are discussed, mainly mechanics and overall sentiment.

We enlisted YOUR help to decide the racing games YOU think should return. In this podcast episode, we discuss the games that the Traxion community replied with upon asking the question.
From Diddy Kong Racing to Ridge Racer and everything in-between, we had a shedload of incredible answers that sent us straight down memory lane, and some that resulted in a quick Google search as we frantically tried to remember obscure titles from the past...
We discuss some of the answers that caught our eye, and then run down the top-seven games that Traxion followers voted for.

Why Assetto Corsa Competizione is so popular | The Traxion.GG Podcast | S02E04
It’s been a long journey, from Early Access back in 2018, to PS4 and Xbox One versions in 2020 and finally – for now – the British GT DLC in 2021, but Assetto Corsa Competizione seems to be in the form of its life right now.
With extraordinarily active player counts, and next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X version slated for later in the year, this latest episode of The Traxion Podcast explores why such a serious game that only includes one slightly obscure racing series has become such a smash it for developer KUNOS-Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games.
If you’re already playing it extensively, we discuss the highs and lows and if you have not yet tried it, then let us regale you with tales of why it is so good.
Hosted by John Munro, with guest Thomas Harrison-Lord.

Racing games that have aged like a fine wine | The Traxion.GG Podcast | S02E03
We’re back with a brand new episode of the Traxion.GG podcast, and this week we discuss games that have aged like a fine wine.
Dodgy episode title aside, this is pertinent, as we live in an age where games are updated, refined, patched and added to post-launch, which means that the original Metacritic becomes less and less relevant.
‘Games as a service’ is a term that exists. Some simulators work on a subscription basis. Games have a second life beyond the initial release.
So, here are just some games that we think fit the bill as something that has got better with age. Like Ryan Gosling or Sienna Miller, but in video game form.
Be sure to let us know some games that you think have got better the older they become and we may revisit this topic in a future episode.
Hosted by Justin Sutton, with guest Thomas Harrison-Lord.

Can’t go wrong
super excited for this!
