Trek Politics Is On Strike
Mary and Bob announce a temporary hiatus for this podcast until the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes are resolved, in essence Trek Politics is joining the virtual picket line in support of the actors and writers. Per the SAG-AFTRA guidelines, our guests are unable to publicly discuss or promote Star Trek or any studio or network projects, and it's a gray area in terms of whether we, as podcasters, can discuss Star Trek on the show. So rather than struggling to navigate all of that, we decided to support the actors and writers by beaming the show into the transporter buffer until everything is resolved. We will return!

Come back!!
Would love it if yall would come back, it feels like the show ended too abruptly
A Fun Device to Discuss Politics
As a fan of both, politics and Star Trek, I think the use of Star Trek as a device to discuss politics is fun and genius. Star Trek’s politics is a model of liberal politics that allows for interesting comparisons and contrasts with current political events. The podcast is helped tremendously by Mary’s and Bob’s extensive knowledge of Star Trek and politics. I miss the show. I hope you guys can be back soon. However, as a Teacher’s Union member, I also appreciate your support for the actors and writers unions.
Kirk Acevedo ROCKS!!!
I have followed both podcasters for a long time so I'm obviously a fan of this collaboration. Just wanted to compliment you on your choice to include Kirk Acevedo-we follow each other on Twitter and he is not only a gifted actor but a fiercely articulate and entertaining advocate for justice and sanity, and an important voice for the Hispanic community in particular!!! These are fascinating and frightening times and podcasts like yours help to infuse credible information and sanity into our society-we need you!!!
