Going It Alone: Building Confidence and Maturity in Your Dancer
There is so much to be gained for your child on a dance team, being a teammate, working together. It’s these lessons that help them prepare for life as an adult and prompt us to give up our weekends and all our money to competitive dance team life. But there is also something to be gained from our dancers learning to "go it alone" at conventions, master classes & intensives without their teams. Today on the podcast, we want to talk about building emotional maturity in our dancers and preparing them for their futures through solo dance experiences.
WHAT TO LISTEN FOR
Why attend dance conventions, masterclasses, or conventions without your team? When is it best to not attend these extra dance experiences? What extra dance events are there and what is best for my dancer? When can we fit these into our existing dance teams schedules? A great listen!
I am still fairly new to the competition dance world and find all of the knowledge that Casey and Amira share to be INCREDIBLY helpful! They normalize all of the challenges and have shared many great tips that I have been able to incorporate into my life as well as blunders that likely prevented me from some potential disasters. Definitely a good listen if you are looking to learn how to support your dancer more!
Love Two Dance Moms!
I’m was a dancer myself for 16 years doing studio and high school drill. My oldest daughter is a dancer as well. The dance world has changed so much from when I was dancing so I LOVE to hear what Two Dance Moms has to share. The tips and advise shared have helped me learn and understand how the dance world is changing and evolving so that my dancer and myself are more prepared.
Great for Dance Grandparents!
Our grand daughter is a dancer and we are new to the dance world! Love hearing these tips so we can step in and help on competition weekends!
