Unapologetically Black as Hell

    As a Black Woman

    As a Black Woman

Welcome to episode 1 of ubah poetry
I wanna begin every episode with a relating quote and a little background behind what significant each piece holds to me:
Maya Angelou once said, “There is a kind of strength that is almost frightening in a black women. It’s as if a steel rod runs right through the head down to the feet”
With this, there’s many different struggles that go into play in a society where both black Americans and women are considered systematically oppressed groups. With this, I wrote this poemm to develop my personal experience and what I’m sure a lot of Black women feel at a national level. This piece is called, “As a Black Woman”
