Dr. Adhikari is an expert in the fields of Chemistry and Neuroscience. He is currently an associate professor here at UCLA, and has been a part of UCLA’s Psychology Department since 2017. Along with his role as an educator, Dr. Adhikari also runs a lab that investigates how the brain manages various changes that are linked to emotional behaviors, specifically the emotions of fear and anxiety. These changes involve complex and dynamic adaptations in the hormonal, physiological and behavioral realms. Through his work Dr. Adhikari aims to make sense of how interactions between different brain structures control these processes, seeking insights that shed light on the neural basis of pathological anxiety disorders and adaptive aversion to danger.
