Hello, Welcome home to Unity,
Whether it’s your first time here or your thousandth, each time is new. Every time we enter our sanctuary, we open to a new thought and each new thought is the next beginning. It is the next beginning for a realization of Love, Joy, Peace and Harmony. With these aspects of God active and present in our lives we stand a greater chance of health and healing in our mind and body. We increase our harmony. We increase our prosperity and we are able to see our world in ways where forgiveness is available for all.

Hey U-nity,
Living From the Super-consciousness
"A LOSS OF MIND"
What do you do when someone you love seems to have lost their mind? I’m not speaking of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. I’m speaking of when someone completely forgets who they are and what their spirituality is, and they have done what seems to be terrible things to you; what do you do?
Do you hate them if they seem to hate you? Do you throw them away as if they are something to discard? What do you do?
First of all, do your best to remember who and what you are so that you don’t forget as well. Then you pray. Go within and ask the Highest Voice within you for what to think in this situation. Ask your Self for the Truth of the situation to be revealed and then take your actions.
Next, rinse and repeat.
Before each action, go within and ask. Trust the Divine Voice within you. It will never guide you to hurt yourself or another. Remember, you can never force another to wake up, but you can awaken yourself by desiring God more than you desire confusion. Keep asking the Highest.
Remember, we are all equal in God no matter how we behave. In God we trust, and move and have our being.
All the Best for Today,
Rev. Shawn

"Prayer and Meditation Are Essential for Peace"
How many of you think you cannot meditate? I frequently hear, “I can’t meditate. I think too much.”
We all think during meditation. It is by gently bringing yourself back from the thinking into the meditation that gives you the greatest benefit. Somewhere a rumor started that you’re not supposed to think when you meditate. I don’t know any human being who doesn’t think.
Some like to say that “prayer is for asking and meditation is for listening.”
Prayer is a conscious communion with your Highest Self. It is not asking for something as if it is absent, but affirming your oneness with the Highest. Through affirming the presence of what is perceived as absent one can reveal the very thing that seems to be missing.
Meditation is for relaxing and being. Sometimes in the quiet we get great spiritual revelations and other times we just get quiet and a revelation happens later when we most need it. There are also times that we just get quiet.
Take your time to find a way that works for you and offers you the most. It takes work and commitment and its worth it.
All the Best for Today,
Rev. Shawn

Last week's message from Rev. Shawn
Hey U-nity,
Living From the Super-consciousness
"It Happened, Now How Are You Going to Think About It?"
I know I’ve said this so many times as have so many New Thought teachers, but our thoughts create our experiences. It’s not, “that happened and now I have to think this about it.” It’s “that happened, what am I telling myself about it?” Nothing has any definite meaning or required way to think about it.
If you say, “Today was a good day, or today was a bad day,” I will ask you what makes it good or bad? The answer will come down to, “Because I said so.”
In God, there are no good days or bad days; there are events that we experience according to what we tell ourselves about them.
As your day’s events unfold, observe what you tell yourself about them. What are you telling yourself about the weather, your money, your relationships, your politicians, the bumps in the road, etc…. What are you telling yourself. Remember, there is no, “I should think this…” There is only what am I thinking and what is my story?
This goes for everything that happens, not just the big or the small stuff, everything!
All the Best for Today,
Rev. Shawn

"It Came to Pass...It Didn't Come to Stay"
Hey U-nity,
I heard that statement many years ago and it was profound to me. The simplicity of it is what appeals to my way of thinking. First of all I like that it uses an old saying that I’ve heard since childhood and then adds simple logic as well as hope to it.
Everything, whether we like it or not is going to pass through our lives and no matter how hard we try to hold onto it, it is not here for the long term.
I need to remember this as much as anyone. I’m grateful to have thought of it today. If everything that comes is meant to stay, we would be so overcrowded with thoughts, stuff and people. Let’s just look at our problems for a moment here. Who here has had problems that aren’t problems any longer? I have! However, they passed. There are so many problems I used to have that I don’t have anymore.
I thought I would never get to sixteen and get my driver’s license. It passed and I drive all the time. People I love have passed. People I have resented have passed. Thoughts I thought were so important have passed. I don’t remember most of them.
Whatever you are going through will pass. They will pass with more ease and grace if you let them. Observe and decide if they are worth holding onto. Take responsibility for your thoughts staying or passing.
All the Best for Today,
Rev. Shawn

Hey U-nity,
Expose your light. As they say, “don’t hide it under a bushel. Let your light shine.”
The best part of you is never your physicality. The best part is always what’s within. Especially if you are maintaining a conscious connection with your Source. If you want to know if your light is shining, look for the light in others. You couldn’t see their light if yours wasn’t on.
Show, or expose your god-self and let your light so shine. It’s not something you control, it’s something you become willing to have done through you. Make the choices to let the pathway open.
All the Best For Today,
Rev. Shawn

Hey U-nity,
Early on in my study I heard, “As God is for me, nothing could be against me.”
It sounded nice but I didn’t understand it. Sometimes it seems as if something or someone is against me. Then I looked at it differently. I turned the other cheek. I realized that while many things affect me, they aren’t directed at me personally.
No one is against me personally. They might be threatened by my religion, my sexuality, my gender, my relationship or whatever else, but they don’t know me.
Hurricane Ian didn’t single anyone out in Ft Meyers or anywhere else, but it affected them…and thus affected all of us everywhere else. It wasn’t against us; it was weather happening.
Illness isn’t against us. Whether it’s mental or physical, illness isn’t against us. Illness doesn’t consider the person or persons who is affected.
That is why we aren’t wise to feel sorry for ourselves. We have the power within us to shift everything. I invite you to listen to my talk from this past Sunday, October 23rd. https://www.facebook.com/unitycenterofnorwalk/videos/425960556367961
I believe that whatever God is, It is Good and is willing that we all thrive and prosper and all we have to do is hold the right thoughts, words and take the right actions. Do not hold off on your Good with self-pity. Decide now, “Good can come from this and I am willing to participate in bringing this good about. What’s more, I am willing that ALL beings thrive and prosper as I thrive and prosper.
As God is for me, I am for me and I am for all beings becoming joy-filled.
All the Best For Today,
Rev. Shawn
