Using Autism to Become a Successful Entrepreneur with Peter Mann That Entrepreneur Show

    • Careers

Peter unknowingly tapped into being neurodivergent, using his autism to become a highly successful serial entrepreneur and CEO.

Being autistic allowed him to:
see unusual patterns to improve business strategycreate first-of-kind products with unique physical designstake business risksHowever, being neurodivergent came with a personal cost – such as having challenges developing and maintaining close relationships. Peter’s confirmed late autism diagnosis has changed his life.

While he still focuses on developing his business, he has pivoted his time to find new ways to support others who are neurodivergent and may not know how to tap into their abilities to succeed at work.

A US navy veteran and former Dell executive, he founded Austin-based Alen Corp in 2002, a company that designs and manufactures indoor air purifiers. After bootstrapping from zero to $14M, Peter sold Alen Corp in 2009 and founded Radford, Virginia-based Oransi – an electric motor technology and indoor air purification manufacturing company with a clean energy mission.
