Truly Veritas
We miss pastor Eric, Mike, Jose and all the friends we left behind when we moved. If you want to hear the truth in love, come and join this church at the foot of the cross, you are welcome here. Don’t be put off by the unique way that Eric calls the church to communion, if you’re not a believer, come sit under the teaching but communion is not for you, if you ARE a believer, come take communion whether a member, visitor, wayfarer or simply on your journey, understanding that taking of communion is for the body of Christ. The Word is King here as it should be! Thank you Eric for guiding us along!
Exceptional, Biblical and Expositional.
The church was friendly and welcoming. Many people politely introduced themselves.
The Bible translation used is the English Standard Version (ESV).
Pastor Meyers's preaching is exceptionally expositional. He exemplifies proper homiletics to the glory of God (i.e. sermons flow from exegesis to biblical theology with practical application). The theological richness and reflection of Pastor Meyers's messages are, by the power of the Holy Spirit, convicting, challenging, correcting, and heart-changing. There is proper balance at Veritas, in the sense that, biblical theology births doxology and evidences good works.
I think the practice of communion can be developed/nuanced. Any given person should be warned that communion is a sign of the New Covenant, Christ's substitutionary death for the penalty of sin, and His imminent return for authentic Christians (that divides/separates between believers and unbelievers). Of course communion is not a trifling practice nor is it a ritual; rather, it communicates/relates symbolically a direct connection (e.g. self-identification) with the gospel.
Please visit if you are in the area. Blessings on you!
