Mark Jeacoma and Christopher Hasler are movie nerds who get together once in awhile and ramble on about movies, TV and old times in the world of VHS, Laserdiscs, 8-Tracks, Vinyl and VCR's.
The 4th Annual Halloween Mixtape
It's that time once again: the annual all-music Halloween episode!
Naturally, we prefer that listeners jump right in but maybe we can give you some SNEAK PREVIEWS to scare up your interest: this Halloween episode will be a little different as we spend time AT THE MOVIES. This episode will focus on songs (yes, with vocals) from horror flicks from the 1980s (maybe one from the 1990s). There are some obvious choices, of course: Freddy, Jason & Michael are represented but we have other perhaps more obscure horror flicks covered as well (if anything, maybe the songs themselves are less known than the movie they appear in). From main title songs, to end title songs, to songs that are genuinely creepy, to songs that are, like, what-the-hell-is-that-song-doing-in-a-horror-movie (looking at you, HALLOWEEN: CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS), from disco songs to country songs to songs with an extended kazoo solo(!), these songs will have you howling at the moon this Halloween (or any other time of the year). So please take a listen and leave a comment letting us know what you think.
We at VHS Rewind wish everyone a very safe and happy Halloween season.
Halloween III (1982)
Mark and Chris Hasler jump feet first into this 1982 classic, Halloween III! The Silver Shamrock song is so addictive and this movie, although very strange, is just a ton of fun! We can't recommend it enough!
Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein from 1948! This is the oldest film that VHS Rewind! has reviewed and is certainly a classic favorite!
We hope you enjoy our second entry into our Halloween until Thanksgiving A-thon!
Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
The Return of Chris Hasler!
Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan from 1989 was not my first choice but I had such a great time watching this strange and entertaining film. Thank you to Chris Hasler for suggesting it. We discuss everything one might expect and we just had an incredibly fun time doing it!
We hope you enjoy this first entry into our Halloween until Thanksgiving A-thon!
Ghost Fever (1986)
This is a very very strange film. Ghost Fever was originally released on March 27,1987 but since IMDB states the film is from 1986 that's what I'll rolling with! Ghost Fever is a low budget film mostly financed by Sherman Hemsley and nearly bankrupted him! Although I am unsure who the target audience was, I think it's worth watching just to see how crazy a mid 80's film can be.
Geno Cuddy returns to the mic to help be dissect this strange classic!
"Two policeman are sent on a routine assignment to serve an eviction notice. It becomes anything but run-of-the-mill when they become involved in the ghostly happenings."
The CBS 1981-82 Happy New Year America!
Rushing this one out! Chris and Mark watched and discussed the CBS 1981-82 Happy New Year America hosted by Donny Osmond and Donna mills!!!! The Pointer Sisters also spend some time on stage live from Las Vegas! There's so much in this 2 hour presentation and I hope you guys enjoy it!
Happy New Year to all of you from VHS Rewind! and RetroTV!
If you lived thru the 80's you will love this show
Terrible! Boring! Inaccurate!
I have not heard a podcast this bad in years! Seriously, avoid this podcast if you love the 80’s. These guys are idiots. They throw out inaccurate information. They are clueless about even mainstream horror. Not to mention, it’s just very boring. Skip this one. It’s not worth your time
This is a really fun podcast. I often find myself cracking up at the hosts take on VHS era movies, shows, etc. This podcast always puts me in a good mood. I never miss a new one!
