#VA7, ep. 10 Empires Fall and become Broken Mirrors

#VA7, ep. 10 Empires Fall and become Broken Mirrors

We reach the conclusion of the convoluted story of the Fall of the Inca empire, which we have been following in Loren McIntyre’s powerful book; The Incredible Incas and their Timeless Land.
As I thought about the betrayals, murders, opposing forces and interests which were at play as this extraordinary civilization was broken into severed fragments, the image of a broken mirror stayed in my mind.
We need those broken mirrors, however convenient it might seem to simply sweep up the pieces and throw them away. They beg for attention and most of all, curious, ingenious eyes.
A broken mirror is still a mirror, and its brokenness offers no option but to embrace the diversity and multiplying power of its many, disparate parts.
Dedicated to all Mothers, wishing we sincerely celebrate  the many ways in which they are sacred seeds that carry, tend and perpetuate life.

VA7, Ep. 9 ES Un Solo Planeta; Nuestro Problema requiere Asombro y Humildad.

VA7, Ep. 9 Our One Planet Problem requires Wonder and Humility: Silent Spring still whispers: In Nature, Nothing exists Alone

In honor of Earth Day, we take a break from the chronicles about the Inca Empire conquest. Instead, I honor and revisit Silent Spring, Rachel Carson's groundbreaking book which ignited the environmental conscience of humanity.
Also, inspired by a parallel that occured to me as I watched "The 3 Body Problem", a contemporary tale about an alien invasion and humanity's struggle to hold on to science and our Home, I propose a renewed commitment to hold on to Wonder and Humility; focused on the realization that Silent Spring continues to whisper: In Nature, Nothing exists Alone.

VA7, Ep. 8 Eclipse of the Sons of the Sun; Evolving from Abandonment to Deploying an Inner Beacon

VA7, Ep. 8 Eclipse of the Sons of the Sun; Evolving from Abandonment to Deploying an Inner Beacon

We are exploring darkness and then, the return of the light, which many of us witnessed recently.
Imagine what the destruction of their empire meant to the Incas, the total extinction of their light. I think that for almost a month, my heart and my brain have been trying, desperately, to understand what this series of losses might mean to a people; any collective, and as usual, my dreams enlightened my path. We go through the painful narration of the gradual decimation of the Inca's empire. The rays of light sometimes seem feeble when the darkness is overwhelming, yet that's when those glimmers dazzle with their beauty and power. We each can be an individual lighthouse and contribute in order to defeat the shadows.

I love this podcast!

Lina paints such a vivid picture with her words. Her podcast is my window into a completely different life than the one I know. It is so beautiful hearing about her story and her experience in the Amazon. Her voice is so soothing, and the stories are well written! As Lina says, she is opening her “trunk of treasures” and this podcast is a gem from that trunk.
